The game went fairly well without incident. I did have to give one penalty, but there were no bookings. The most strenuous task I had to endure though was after the game. I was accosted after the game by a player though who demanded I award him a goal that he shot from inside his own half. I'm sure you'll know who that is, though
How do you have a penalty with no bookings?
If there is a foul inside the box that's not worthy of a booking, isn't it an indirect free kick?

Is every foul outside of the box that isn't a yellow card an indirect free-kick?
It bemuses me how many players don't know the most basic of rules. My favourite is the universal acclaim world wide that it doesn't matter what the tackler did, but if he "GOT THE BALL, REF" it's not a foul.

This. Especially when "getting the ball" was a knee-high studs up slide tackle.

I think you have your words mixed up here "Kill The Wog". I was stood next to this person when he shouted NOB and not WOG. This person was a friend of one of the players and not directly involved with Hahndorf.
We never and will never be a club that wants to be racist in todays world but a bit of banter from both sets of fans is great. Unless someone cant take it and then an all in brawl happens...

I hate doing this but he's right. This is a major problem over here, players/refs want people booked for every little thing. The game needs to toughen up.

The original poster put that a foul in the box and a penalty was surely deserving of a yellow card. I then took it a step further in terms of the fact that you get booked over here a lot more easily than you do in England.

but I also wanted to state that pernunz was correct. I give him a hard time on here, so when he was finally correct I had to state it.

WTF? You must be one of those people who come on here after a loss and claim the referee robbed you.

Of you can't be offside if the ball is kicked backwards.

Erm. You can .... if you run from an offside position to get the ball that was played backwards.

Yah, for sure. Sorry. That'd be a pretty rare one. I don't think I've ever seen it. Thought he meant if you're standing backward of the ball when it is passed.
My personal favourite, from an attacking player after a corner was miskicked out: "it never went in, ref!!"

I'd be happy if both linesmen and players knew about the concept of the "whole ball" - i.e. the ball needs to fully cross the line to be out, not just touch it...
In a preseason game a couple of years ago a player tried to explain to me that it is a foul where the player lands, and not where the foul is committed
