CHELSEA are in the Champions League final after one of the all-time great club ties
The Blues midfield hero roared: “This is our finest hour.”
Chelsea had skipper John Terry sent off but battled back from two goals down to dump Euro champions Barcelona.
And Lamps said: “It’s one of the finest moments I have felt in a Chelsea shirt.
“I know people want to see beautiful football, but to play for 50 minutes with 10 men and to be 2-0 down here and to perform like that... what spirit. Unbelievable.”
Former boss Jose Mourinho sent Chelsea a good-luck message ahead of the game.
The Special One’s Real Madrid could now face the Blues in the final on May 19 if they overcome a 2-1 deficit at home to Bayern Munich tonight.
Lamps added: “Chelsea people have a lot of love and respect for Jose Mourinho but we are just delighted to go through.”
Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta scored either side of Terry’s 37th-minute red card for kneeing Alexis Sanchez from behind.
Ramires chipped a vital away goal, then Lionel Messi missed a penalty before Fernando Torres wrapped it up in injury time.
Torres said: “Football is like that. The best team doesn’t always win.”
Ramires, Raul Meireles and Branislav Ivanovic will join Terry on the sidelines at the final after picking up bookings last night.
Ivanovic only discovered his fate when a TV reporter told him after the game.
Terry claimed later it was not done on purpose and that he 'was not that sort of player'.

What's hard to believe? It's not as though they have never been there before.

Re: Chelsea in the final - Can you believe it?
chelsea have a lot to thank the woodwork for
not a great advert for football this morning where one team just digs it heels in while the other actually plays good football and gets no reward for it
couldn't believe Meireles though, 2-3 minutes left and does a stupid tackle which gets him an automatic ban for the final
oh well, lets see what they'll be like over 1 leg against Real or Bayern........can't see them doing it

Terry, Meirelles, Ivanovic and Ramires all suspended for the final.
I wonder how many Barca or Chelsea players were worried about Terry nailing one
of their wives while he had an hour to spare

The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil!

Not really.
Many people (including myself) were calling an all Spanish final of Barca-Real right from the last 16, but now there might not even be one of them in there.
Chelsea will lose against whoever they come up against though. All those absentees will hurt them.

Good game to watch and, grudgingly, congrats to the Chavs. All games tend to have a defining moment, be it a refs decision, a goal, a sending off or whatever, that changes the direction of the game. Had Messi stuck the penalty away (and I'd have put my house on it) it was game over. That miss spurred Chelsea on.

not everyone is a fan of tippy tappy 5 aside style football
the way Barca plays bores the crap out of me , if i wanted to see tricks i would watch the circus
give me a more physical game with actual contested situations anytime
there is no such thing as "good football" imo ..just football
embrace the different styles , it is what makes the game great

The same David that spent 13m hiring then another 6m firing their manager with their 50m striker on the bench.dj_no.1 wrote:you havent got a clue, thats one of the best games you will see. anybody except barca fans would be enthralled watching that live, a great advertisement for football. david v goliath epic.Wolowizard wrote:chelsea have a lot to thank the woodwork for

Judging by the media wankfest anyone would think Stevenage went to the Nou Camp and snuck a draw!

Bloody hell, it's like Argentina 1990 with all these suspensions for the final!carra23 wrote:Terry, Meirelles, Ivanovic and Ramires all suspended for the final.

Bayern missing Alaba, Badstuber, and Luis Gonzalez. Van Buyten is injured and they have no real other cover at CB!
Chelsea missing Ramires, Terry, Ivanovic, Meireles. Luiz will be touch and go and how long is Cahill out for?

Born to a Russian Jewish family, Abramovich was raised in his uncles' families, living first in Ukhta, in the Komi Republic, and then in Moscow. He attended regular state schools and was an average student. Information on his university education is controversial. Some sources suggest that he attended the Ukhta Industrial University, while others point to The Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Moscow. Both universities deny his attendance. In Abramovich’s official biography it is stated that he graduated from the Moscow State Law Academy in 2001, but rumours still circulate that he dropped out. Some sources claim that this supposed law-degree was completed in just two years whereas most law-education institutions require at least four years in attendance.

Some people tell me that we professional players are soccer slaves. Well, if this is slavery, give me a life sentence.
