Very disappinting last 20 from the east first team yesterday. the game was very even in the first half, but i thought we would have the legs to over run the grove lads who seemed to be tiring in the heat. We scored a quick two quality goals at the start of the second half, but we did seem to be still in the sheds from half time. Concentration was not really there, we stopped playing our game and docherty took advantage splitting our entire midfield and defence and punishing us to get them back in it. A keeping error let them get back to 2-2 and from there the game opened right up. We still had plenty of chances in the last 5, but docherty again pulled out a very nice strike in to the top corner to shatter us and give them the points.
Overall we are extremely disappointed, but will learn from that one and come out firing next week to take on inter. Grove will do ok this year, but seem to be lacking in depth. They will be relying on docherty and boree to score a lot of goals and if either one of those get injured they might be in trouble.
Was told on Saturday that Brad Docherty had signed for Florina? Obviously that was wrong?

watched the inter -downs game....until i read this didnt notice to much out of the ordinary re. targeting of any inter player. Looked like any other amateur game and seemed fairly refereed. Downs were very good and scored some very good goals which maybe made inter look a little hard done by. Inter will win plenty of games this year.

Downs done the same thing at the farm last year. Kicked Campbell from pillar to post and then screamed blue murder when he gave a bit back.

i Also watched the Inter vs Downs game, I certainly didnt see anything out of the norm in way of stray tackles etc, and i certainly didnt hear any Inter player complain after the game!
maybe if the player in question thought he was targeted or hard done by he should toughen up & look in the mirror, It was an extremely warm day and the first game of the year for championship points so you would expect a few heated moments, not to mention the game was played at a fast pace for the whole of the 90 minutes.
The end result was fair, while the Downs scored 3 or 4 crackers that wouldnt normally go in every week and Inter gave away a soft freakish OG the Downs could of scored 3 or 4 more if Kirky hadnt of pulled of some cracker one on ones.
All in all the Downs would be stoked, they have kick started 2012 with a bang, as far as im aware that is the Downs biggest victory over Inter, and Inter's worst ever home loss. (sure swanny or Carlo will let me know)
Inter on the other hand wouldnt of taken to many positives out of the game, although i thought they held their own and probably pushed it about slightlty better than the Downs in the first 30 minutes or so, it all changed when the downs scored. (a cracker too!) I'm sure Inter will improve, they are definately better than the scoreline suggests.

Here's the thing Whittle Legga, I wouldn't have said a single thing about anything.
No big concern about the Downs 1st Game at all I was merly responding to your mate Steddy Eddie & his amusement of Gardens Result of a Draw to the Farm on the weekend. Which I find very strange when the Farm have been the the second best Team in the competition for the last 2years.
I also find it hilarious how your lot can dish it out but can't take it back....

O' That's right you are a Life Member B.F.D.

p.s the only reason why it ain't all about results on the park for you lot is cause you hang your hats on Div.12,11,10,9 Titles

Not straws and not my signature KNUGGET, was a list of some of the things Elizabeth Downs have won and each participant in each of those wins would have been just as proud....the Downs are a CLUB not not just "ONE" team :D
Everything else you have commented on KNUGGETT just displays your true poor form !
B.F.D. to a Life Membership...really ? ....26 years as a player (~550 junior + senior games)...4 Division 2 Champions Medals, a Newsfront Cup medal, Reserve Cup Medal, Club Player of the Year 1983 and many other Players Player & B&F awards...and travelling from as far as Happy Valley and Bridgewater to train twice a week and play for Elizabeth Downs....
....quite happy with my lot ( would have loved a Division 1 Title but they are hard to win if you were in Division 2 so often ).
Feel free to list your own personal credentials.
As for Southern Knights, they are a work in progress, not as big as clubs like the Downs and Gardens who have been blessed with a secure home for so many years, but they have done amazingly well to climb up from Division 6 and survive in Division 2 for so many seasons (and only 17 years young) ...

PS...a 5 minute reply to one of your comments does not tax my concentration too heavily KNUGGETT...there's still plenty left for Southern Knights.

Can take plenty of your banter nuggy but it is just a bit hard to understand with all the bleating you have been doing and we are only 1 game in, as for can dish it out but not take it, is this not exactly what you have just done by responding to our good friend Mr Steeds with your continuing bleating waa waa waa baa baa baa. Seem to recall you bleating about a couple of draws we had last year, what different rules for bleaters. Love your work nuggy but please try something different this year and come up with new material what happened to your witt and charm........

well said! a 'CLUBS' success should be measured on the results of ALL its teams from the lowest division to the highest over the entirity of its history. As anyone from any club will admit Itd be great to see the club you play for lift a division 1 title, but if/when that occurs, that trophy would sit proudly amongst ANY other trophy won by the CLUB.

But im just a C grade player so what would I know

Your all sheep & wouldn't have a brain cell between ya Baaaa.
FairDinkum go back & read your posts see how all this as you say sillyness started, but I wouldn't expect you would like I said your all Quick to Dish It, but soft as & can't take it.

And swannsing I'm not one to list my own personal achievements they don't really matter much, you mentioned the Gardens are doing well since I stepped down as Chairman. And I couldn't be prouder of what my Club have achieved since then & well done to the current Chairman & Committee, whats your point???

SWANNSONG = Protector of MONGS
You've done it again Butt Nuggett, I've tried hard to not get caught up in your whit and hillarious repartee but when you mention sheep try looking in your own back paddock first!!!!
