How stringent are the referees being in implementing the instructions about sock colours clashing....?

Re: Socks
Referees told to be strict with sock colours in Div, 1, 2, and 3. Lower Dives to place a report and if it occurs again, then the game is not to be played. Tere is always some referees who chase the money and make it hard fo these wh apply th Laws.
It is SAASL Compeition Rules and also i Laws of th game, that colours do notclash. That incudes socks. SAASL rules sate tha home teamchange. It has always been there, but the lague lik all other matters over tha past few seasons have gome slack.

I bet the refs dont like that one :?tibbaw wrote:We've been told our black socks dont clash with an oppositions black socks simply because we have some white lettering down the side.

Rot...If you were at the delegates meeting the answer was very unclear......the jersey and sock discussion is amateur to say the leastpenalty wrote:Referees told to be strict with sock colours in Div, 1, 2, and 3. Re: Socks
The way it was discussed at the 2nd meeting was that games (probably) wont be called off for sock clashes, and that they understood that many teams/clubs had spent their allocation of funds for the year.
It was as clear as mud!

Re: Socks
We managed to get hold of some red socks today....may use them more often as many teams seem to have blue socks in our division !
Actually made our second strip (red - tangerine) look much better.

I was at the meeting and if strips clash HOME team changes.
If socks clash AWAY team changes there socks.
Rocked up to C game at Fulham and Fulham were in red socks due to the Vale saying we had to change.
Club refs wouldn't be too strict but I told the Vale rep that for the 1st team the Vale had to change but as Fulham were wearing white socks in the A team just for this week cos our new black socks dont arrive until next game then there would be no clash.
The Vale then changed there B team socks.
It was clear what was said at the delegates meeting whether people think it was right or wrong.
Re: Socks
Just check the website and it will tell u what socks each club plays in.Rexie wrote:Do any other clubs have maroon socks?
It's as easy as that to do for clubs playing away - check what socks the home team have and if they clash change ur socks.
It ain't brain surgery guys.
Re: Socks
Ah bigpond always putting the sock in , pardon the pun . Unfortunately not everyone is as resourceful as u !

We were told differently ,but had a change just in case, you would have thought it would be the home team that would have changed socks as they do with strips if there was a clash.bigpond wrote:Wrong.manu16 wrote:So the home team changes, If their socks and shirt clash correct ?.

As soon as he left the room Bill said, No home team changes socks and shirts as they are at home and have better access to a 2nd strip.
Once again clear as mud
Re: Socks
spot on! Its just rediculous that the league didnt set the same rule for shirts and socks.... if its as simple as jumping on the website to check if socks clash, why not do the same with shirts???? OR just have teams have 'home' and 'away' strips and remove the 'clash' theory all together???manu16 wrote:We were told differently ,but had a change just in case, you would have thought it would be the home team that would have changed socks as they do with strips if there was a clash.bigpond wrote:Wrong.manu16 wrote:So the home team changes, If their socks and shirt clash correct ?.

So as you said clear as mud.
For those teams that wear black socks take your change socks just in case.

Re: Socks
We play in Maroon, but wear gold socks.
It is quite clear in the hand book, and as Bill said, home team change socks.

We changed out socks from white to red but I'm not sure if that was meant to be for the season or becuase we wore our away strip against you guys :?DonDownUnder wrote:We play in Maroon, but wear gold socks.

Re: Socks
Well how's this our B team on Sunday's game had to change our tops form yellow to our spare strip blue (lucky we had it) as the Ref was in yellow. Why did our whole team have to and not the ref? He could have at least put a bib on.

Re: Socks
This whole uniform stuff is a joke . Since Adam was a boy the rule in football has always been the home team wear their home strip in it's entirety. if the away teams strip clashes then the away team are responsible for changing , end of . Why the amateur league has screwed with this rule is beyond me . If a team is not organized enough to arrange a non clashing strip when they play away against a team with clashing colors , then they should forfeit the match and sod off .

Re: Socks
Disagree, makes some sense in a league generally run by volunteers to give the home team the change colour option as they usually have more resources close at hand.Ga Pala wrote:This whole uniform stuff is a joke . Imagine Seaford or South Coast United travelling to Port Pirie and someone forgot to pack their away strip (if they clashed) ...then forfeiting...

Re: Socks
A lot of amateur leagues around the country have had the home team change for decades now.
I'd like to see a monkey peel a shrimp.

Re: Socks
Wanting to check what colour we had down with the Saasl as to our alternative sock colour I checked the Saasl website, to find that we did not have one listed.
Further examination found that of the first 20 clubs (Alphabetically) ONLY 4 had listed their alternative strip colours!
