The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

Surprising?

No alternatives here:
1 It's not true and only players on team sheet played
2 Metro are given the 3-0 victory

correct me if Im wrong, but the Cumby prems were missing a couple of their starting 11... Peate & Checker may have just been able to tip a messy game into the favour of Cumby?

From where we were it didn't look like the GK was the last defender, it appeared there was little or possibly no actual contact, and the player who went down was not denied a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Didn't affect the overall result in the end - Fulham took the win quite comfortably.

Well you should know!
I think Cumby shouldn't be too unhappy with that result - maybe didn't take any points, but was a respectable scoreline.

I am not sure why this is made out to be so sinister.
I was there (for the start of the match), there was a simple error made unfortunate but no doubt made.

The player in question was named in advance of Friday and I am 100% sure it was a simple mistake.

Furthermore, when you have at least 3 seniors (available) with the same given name it is not uncommon when you do the visual check the names do blend in and it was a hot day.

People seem quick to jump down peoples throats over this. I am not involved in the club other than as a dad but they are just people with kids playing / or are genuinely interested in advancing the women's game. So how about a bit of slack?

exactly this is an absolute pile of bs.
if it were any other team they'd do anything possible to get the points off them.

Confirmed Uni to forfeit the match. Attention to detail . This could prove costly later in the season.

Filling out the team sheet is easy as long as you get given the correct information.
Checking players against team sheet during warm up and talking to the coach helps, before you hand the Ref the sheet.

Would have thought that was basic stuff also!

I wonder if Brazil put Ronaldo down instead of Ronaldinho whether FIFA would dock them 3 points.

If this was just a basic error, you're punishing 90 minutes of hard work from a team of girls for one person's spelling mistake?

Some people need to get a life

No wonder the women's game is where it is. With all this banter from the 'fraternity' that was 2 weeks ago condemning the FFSA and now applauding it, I think I'll be opting out of the women's game at the end of this season.

Yes they did have some players missing but the girls that were out on the park did an excellent job and nothing should be detracted from that fact. Both teams missed goals during the game and the players can be proud of the job they did.

Well said Lucas I admit I applauded yes but for finally running with the rules!

What happened to filling in the the team sheet the night before? It's the prems team so you would think squad picked at training, barring sickness emergency etc not many changes would be required match day giving you enough chance to amend any change/error prior to kick off if required

I guess lessen leart by all

Lucas, I understand how it can be an honest mistake and all, but how then do you explain the club submitting another player's name post game as the 'official scorer' as was in the paper?? Was that a 'basic error' too? What was the intent to make out someone other than the actual scorer, had scored???

Loof forward to your response.

I wasn't meaning to take anything away from the girls who played, it was a fantastic game & they should have walked away with a smile on their faces because it was a brilliant effort!
