This is what has occurred in the past and ironically what League rules require.

It would be interesting then if the 3 that came up were the same ones that refused to come up this year cause they thought that they werent good enough.....Paleon Patros Germanos wrote:+ 1Aldo Serena wrote:Not necessarily Bacon - it will probably be two down and three up as has happened in past seasons.

But they'd have time to prepare, and recruit players if required.Baresi wrote:It would be interesting then if the 3 that came up were the same ones that refused to come up this year cause they thought that they werent good enough.....Paleon Patros Germanos wrote:+ 1Aldo Serena wrote:Not necessarily Bacon - it will probably be two down and three up as has happened in past seasons.

Easier to bring Mt Hotham to Adelaide than to get SAASL to change their mind.oztrolopiteco wrote:Why doesn't the SAASL just order back USC Lion into Div 2?
Where can a club just ask to be put into a lower division?
My understanding is that USC Lion was going to only have one team, now they show up with 2.
Put them back in Div 2, I say.
There is still time to do this....
SAASL has the final word and the ability to over rule their rules that they put out to their clubs in any way they see fit.oztrolopiteco wrote:But you would hate to be the SAASL if a team or block of teams take it to court for not following Regulations.
What the SAASL is saying is that although there are regulations, they can be changed or overlooked.
This just opens a can of worms for any incident on and off the field.
wow...given the chance to play in a higher div and not take it???..... i dont know why every team fights to play in the highest div possible and some times get given the chance and say nah nah...Wraith wrote:
What I find amusing is the lack of teams willing to take the step up into Div 2, if 4-5 teams have knocked it back is true. Don't these clubs want a shot at the big boys?
Maybe some clubs feel they are not ready to fight in Div 2, especially if only given a couple of weeks notice at the end of pre-season.Maradona-10 wrote:wow...given the chance to play in a higher div and not take it???..... i dont know why every team fights to play in the highest div possible and some times get given the chance and say nah nah...Wraith wrote:

If you finish top 2 in Div 3 you are probably good enough for Div 2 regardless.
If this occured at the start of pre-season clubs in Div 3 would have had time to recruit and bolster their lists.
Gleeson were definitely good enough and probably Flinders as well but our club probably wasn't, end of story.
Nailed it.Sacred Noodle wrote:The league pick and chose the "policies" as suits them.
So 4-5 Div 3 teams knocked back the opportunity to go up yet Budapest were not offered to stay up because it is "against policy"
..... yet they knowingly disregard the policy which should dictate that USC honour their right to play A's and B's in Div 2 ... more so as they recruited aditional players during the season which you would have to assume was in an effort to stay in Div 2.
... nuff said ... over it!.. dont matter ..done n dusted ...looking forward to a good year in Div 3
I think we're playing at yours in round 1, both our squads are hanging to play again!Sacred Noodle wrote:The league pick and chose the "policies" as suits them.

You want to get there on merit, and not be spanked every week. If Ben Buckley came and said, "We need another team, can you guys play in the A-League this year," well, you'd obviously take it probably not the best analogy, but it's no fun for any team, or the players to get spanked every single week.Maradona-10 wrote:wow...given the chance to play in a higher div and not take it???..... i dont know why every team fights to play in the highest div possible and some times get given the chance and say nah nah...Wraith wrote:

ofc you would take it, in a-league you don't get relegated but in amateurs you do!pernunz wrote:Maradona-10 wrote: "We need another team, can you guys play in the A-League this year," well, you'd obviously take it
Pernunz will never play at that level.Wraith wrote:Take your chances. Who knows what can happen.
I'm sure he'd like to get spanked by 11 blokes every week though.Mofo wrote:Pernunz will never play at that level.Wraith wrote:Take your chances. Who knows what can happen.
