Looks like Maggio's injury is not as bad as first thought.

Definetly missing Catania and most probably Juventus but should be back for the Lazio away game.

Good news also is that Klose looks like being ruled out for the Napoli clash in a fortnights time with a injury he picked up at training overnite

The source on the Quagliarella story was goal.com so I wouldn't put too much stock in it. But it wouldn't surprise me to see him squeezed out after a lack of game time. I think it would be wrong mind you.

Guus Hiddink's FC Anzhi Makhachkala where Samuel Eto'o plays are looking at Lavezzi.

They want to offer Napoli 31m and put Lavezzi on a 6m year wage packet.

Talk at the minute, but if Lavezzi shows interest they will pursue it.

Currently Lavezzi is getting paid around 1.8m per season at Napoli.

After 31 rounds of action played in 2010-11, Napoli sat second in the table on 62 points, whilst after 31 rounds of this season, they sit fifth, with only 48 points collected.

Only Inter, with 15 points fewer than last term, are in a worse off state in terms of points earned between this season and last.

Conversely, this season’s League leaders Juventus are 17 points better off now than at this same stage of last season.

not very happy, but what else do u expect when u cant score.
Cavani should of had a hatrick by half time, Hamsik miss in early half............ hit ther posts etc.
But to Bologna's credit, they took their chances, and scored 2 goals from a handful of chances.....

Our defence costs us again, and it will continue to do so.
Lets hope and pray that we can show a beta display in teh Copa Final!

Napoli were the favourites for third place, but threw it away with a shock 2-0 defeat in Bologna on Marco Di Vaio’s Dall’Ara swansong.

There was a party atmosphere at the Stadio Dall’Ara, as Di Vaio waved goodbye to Serie A and the Rossoblu celebrated their safety, while at the same time thousands of Napoli fans flocked to Bologna to cheer their side on towards Champions League qualification.

Going into the game they were level in third place with Udinese, but missed Hugo Campagnaro, Marco Donadel and the suspended Federico Fernandez. Ezequiel Lavezzi was again dropped in favour of on-form Goran Pandev. The home side had Gaston Ramirez, Panagiotis Kone and Daniele Portanova suspended plus the injured Henry Gimenez, Nico Pulzetti, Jean-Francois Gillet and Rene Krhin.

Marek Hamsik had a great scoring opportunity in the opening minutes, but was denied by a desperate Federico Agliardi save. The Slovak gathered with his back to goal from Juan Zuniga and spun round from six yards to find a one-handed Agliardi block.

Moments later Paolo Cannavaro went on the counter to the edge of the area and unleashed a blockbuster that cannoned off the crossbar!

However, Napoli left themselves exposed on the counter-attack when Archimede Morleo and Robert Acquafresca combined, so Alessandro Diamanti had all the time he needed to sweep home from 12 yards.

Napoli were continually wasting chances at the Dall’Ara, as Agliardi flapped at a messy Niccolo Cherubin header to deny an own goal.

Cavani sprung the offside trap to go one-on-one with Agliardi and his lob only clipped the crossbar of an open goal!

The Uruguayan wasted another great opportunity by running on to Pandev’s pass through the middle, but curled it inches wide with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Safir Taider replaced the injured Diego Perez in the Bologna line-up, while Lavezzi replaced Christian Maggio after the break, moving Pandev wide right.

Bologna had a potential penalty when Salvatore Aronica had his arms around Di Vaio on a corner, but the referee waved play on.

Lavezzi’s free kick skimmed the base of the near post and Napoli switched to a four-man defence. However, they left themselves open at the back and Bologna scored a second goal on the counter-attack with substitute Matteo Rubin running on to Di Vaio’s reverse pass to smash under the bar from a tight angle.

Agliardi flew to palm away a Hamsik cross-shot, then Camilo Zuniga miskicked from the edge of the box. However, Bologna threatened a third, as Di Vaio was one-on-one with Morgan De Sanctis and thumped the base of the near post.

Di Vaio wasted again, combining with Belfodil to drive wide of the upright from eight yards. To make matters worse for Napoli, Cavani was booked and will be suspended for the final match with Siena.

The tension got to Napoli and a brawl erupted after a Zuniga tackle, resulting in Blerim Dzemaili and Morleo’s red cards, although there was pushing and shoving from most of the teams.

Cesare Prandelli continued his tour of Italy’s clubs by visiting Napoli and hailed them as “a real club that wants to grow with a winning project.”

The Azzurri Coach is stopping by at each Serie A club’s training ground ahead of Euro 2012 to speak with tacticians and players.

“When a club achieves results that are superior to the ones they expected, it means this is a club seeking consistency,” explained Prandelli after lunch with Mazzarri.

“A real club that wants to grow with a winning project is the one that improves year after year. In that sense, Napoli have proved they have a winning project.”

Some fans have been disappointed by this season, especially as the 2-0 defeat to Bologna on Sunday seemed to rule them out of qualification for the Champions League.

“Napoli did well both in Serie A and on a European level. I am certain the club will construct a strong squad over time. The foundations are already solid thanks to some great work from Mazzarri,” continued Prandelli.

“If I was back at my old club Fiorentina and saw them achieve the same results as Napoli this season, then I’d be proud. Therefore I’d say this has certainly been a fantastic campaign.”

The Partenopei could also end it with silverware, as they face Juventus in the Coppa Italia Final on May 20.

Walter Mazzarri says Napoli have not lost hope of reaching the Champions League. “We have to beat Siena and hope.”

The Partenopei were in joint third place going into the weekend’s games and the favourites to clinch it, but were surprisingly beaten 2-0 by Bologna.

Now Udinese need only a point in Catania to secure the spot, while Lazio and Inter are also in the running.

“Now it doesn’t only depend on us and we are tied to the results of the other teams,” confessed Mazzarri.

“We have to beat Siena with all of our might and are working hard on that. After that, we can only hope.

“I am convinced Catania will play a great game against Udinese, just as Bologna did with us. This campaign is truly uncertain and right now we just have to end on a high.”

Edinson Cavani, Salvatore Aronica and Blerim Dzemaili are suspended for the final match at the Stadio San Paolo.

Massive loss without Cavani, but tHANKFULLY Aronica to miss.....!
personally, I dont think Catania will b too fussed with this game, they are safe from relegation and cant make europe, so their hunger wont be as strong as Mazzari may think
Udinese should win, or even get a draw to see thim in europe next year, but with the expected retirement of Di Natale, they will struggle next year

Napoli present new stadium

The Mayor of Naples has presented plans for the new stadium, which will resemble “a shell at the feet of Mount Vesuvius.”

President Aurelio De Laurentiis has repeatedly stated he wants to construct a new arena for the club to replace the San Paolo or at least restructure it.

“For three more years Napoli will play at the San Paolo. Once the new stadium in the Ponticelli area is completed, work will begin on restructuring the San Paolo,” Mayor Luigi De Magistris told Radio Crc.

“The shell at the feet of Mount Vesuvius is a proposal put forward by the council for the construction of a new stadium, an activity I have said I will do from the start of my work as Mayor.

“Finally someone put forward a serious project and it involves the construction of a new arena in the Ponticelli area and a restyling of the San Paolo.

“We want it to be not only a stadium, but a stadium-arena where other than football games it represents a meeting place for youngsters, a cinema, shops and gyms.

“De Laurentiis will participate in the construction of a new stadium, as any project will be made in conjunction with Napoli. In 2014 the contract between the council and Napoli football club expires, so we have to work both on renewing that and ensuring participation in the new stadium.

“In any case, over the next three years the San Paolo will also be improved and renewed, as we are working with De Laurentiis on this. We’ll improve the toilets, pitch-side advertising boards, the pitch and other significant alterations.”

I hope PSG or Russia or anywhere outside Italy really.
However, looks more likely everyday that it may be to Inter in a part exchange for cash & some of their spare parts.
If he has to go i just hope DeLaurentis ensures someone meets his 31M clause and reinvests it wisely.
Maybe between Vargas and Insigne they could fill the void, but i doubt either are ready at this level.

I don't agree with this sentiment but unfortunately even if we sell him, we will be coping a massive loss so it's almost worth keeping him just so he can hopefully hit form and increase his value. Essentailly Zarate does not have the temprament to cut it at the highest level.
