no worries, everyone on here says I cant read, maybe just proved them right..I think we confer, bosna you are twats. The thing with this is it is always the same clubs having tanties and getting games abandoned, get rid of them and one would assume as mentioned that there was league officials present so maybe a swift response to these dum dums will be in order...

It really wasn't a good advert for our game. I hope the papers don't get hold of it as it will get blown all out of proportion.

The Bosna coach has a lot to answer for when he tried to call his team off the field.

Thats the thing it is not good for our game and needs to be dealt with accordingly. Was there any officials present, who was ref ? Bit ironic that in todays paper the saasl are advertising for a referee development officer after alleged that a ref was lucky not to get kick in the head in this so called show piece pre season comp. All I can say is it is a wee bit ordinary by whoever involved. So whats the final Sunday v Saturday..... :D

I think the full amateur league hierarchy was in attendance.

I don't want to talk about the ref on a public forum, however he didn't deserve to be assaulted in that way.

After the BESA incident last year I would assume the league will come down on Bosna like a ton of bricks and their supporter that has posted on here has probably done them a world of disservice.

Their goalkeeper scared the crap out of the ref several times by charging at him with his fist raised (Should have been sent off at least a couple of times but I reckon the ref was probably too scared) and was eventually sent off when he threw his water bottle in his face. Bosna finished with 7 players on the pitch before they walked off.

The referee was punched in the back of the head by one of their spectators as he was walking up the players race. Two people had to restrain him from hitting the ref again.

Alex Chickanowski was in attendance and as Bosna's coach was calling his players off the pitch I heard Alex say that if they walk off they will not be playing in this league again.

The referee was terrible and made the game all about him, it was frustrating for both teams, but that reaction was disgraceful and noone deserves that. I'm unsure of the referees name, hes a bit older and used to ref feds. I spoke to him afterwards and fortunately he was okay.

Irrespective of who the ref is and how he walks, this alleged assault is not a good look for the SAASL at all.

Everyone at every club needs to wake up and realise - no refs, no games, no football and need to be educated as such.

No refs, no game is going to be a reality sooner than later if this keeps happening.
Around eight years ago, there were about 75 referees doing the traps.
This year there are apparently only 35 refs to do Saturday AND Sunday comps.
The average age is another concern expressed to me... many of the older refs are ready to hang up their boots or just do the odd lower division game.

Clubs are responsible for their supporters. If a supporter assaults a referee, then the club need to be held accountable. It would seem harsh to disband the club over the supporters actions, however the Bosna should take some initiative and common sense to ban that supporter for life. Hope the SAASL gives the players sent off for aggression and/or violent conduct a hefty ban along with telling Bosna that 1 more incident such as this and they are no more.

Make the clubs totally responsible for OH&S of all match officials. How?

Zero tolerance. Any indiscretions and the whole club (every team, mens, womens and juniors) receive automatic 6 week ban. Second indescretion and the entire club is flung out of the league for ever. No ifs buts why's or what fors enough is enough and it simply has to end.

Implement this strategy and every club will self regulate and quickly get on top of any loose cannon supporters, officials or players. If the club officials feel that the offenders are outside their control (i.e. they are non-aligned to either club) then they signal the referee to immediately abandoned the game and both club's ensure the officials are escorted to safety.

If you're from the bleeding hearts brigade and have a million reasons why you think this is too harsh (because it impacts on the innocent people in a club) come back and see me in a couple of years when there is no refs and no one can play in the whole league.

If this were to happen, who would be next in line for promotion to Dvision 2 ?

Zero tolerance is what's needed . If ur club folds stiff sh it find another one with their sh it in order.

Bosna have some genuinely hard working and nice people around their club. Their team not only represents their club but also the Bosnian community who help support them.
It's time for their Club as representatives of that Community to cease making referees and officials the targets of all their disappointments.
If you start a game thinking all officials are against you, every mistake or right decision they make that doesn't go your way will be seen as cheating or deliberately against you....you will look for the little mistakes and blow them out of proportion. It incites the spectators who in turn, incite the players. (this applies to all teams).
Somebody, or some people at Bosna (if they are allowed to continue in the SAASL) needs to take the players and coaches aside and let them know that things have to radically change.
Imagine if we behaved that way to our own players and coaches that make decisions or errors that cost us the game, not making a save, missing an open goal, being offside all the time, not making the right substitutions....do we jump in front of their faces all game then barrage them with insults all the way to the change room ?
Put it all back into perspective...it's not for sheep stations or country borders...it's for 3, 1 or 0 points (and a liitle bit of pride).
We are losing, and not replenishing referee stocks, most probably due to the fear factor....I've been there and it does exist !!
It is even becoming more difficult to find helpers who genuinely want to run the line !

*end of rant !

Final Tomorrow: Wed 21st KO 7:30pm.

Uni vs. Vista.

I doubt many would have picked either to make the final at the start of the comp, what with the strength of the field. Should be a good game.

I doubt no one picked this final either - because they didn't - cause no one gave a shiraz.
You guys are the only team that took the tournament seriously at all. What an effort!

$500 runner-up
$1000 winner

I think it's a goods voucher for top-corner sports.
