The question should be, how many of the 21 teams/coaches (or how many there were) tried to follow it ?
Let's only look at the basics .....
(eg)
a) 1-4-3-3 ?
b) Playing out from the back ?
So..may i ask ZJ..what did you see...how many of the 21 teams/coaches (or how many there were) tried to follow it ?

How did your club go? (a good progressive club too btw)...did they have a go?

Is it ffa corriculum to play 3 games in 30 degree heat.
what is ffa corriculum and ffsa corriculum .
With the spelling im surprised you have not listed 3-3-4 -1 as an option? Sounds like it was a ball  might have to go down there next time and watch all the superstars.

I dont think we did, so 'no' to a) and b)

On a personal note, 18mths ago I didnt know much about 1-4-3-3, how to teach it, how it worked to maximum effect etc ..... luckily the ages I was coaching wasnt 11 v 11 at that stage
But in the last 18mths thankfully I have managed to learn a fair bit about it, why?, how? where?, who? when? ...... and probably wouldnt look at playing any other formation

I might in the future, instead of playing one #10 and a #6 and #8 behind him, as the kids get older, I would revert to two #10s with only one holding midfielder #6 behind them ...... still 1-4-3-3 but a different variation

All the talk on formations, playing out form the back, etc. are all irrelevant when it comes down to a tournament. The players and coaches will do whatever in nessasary to win the game because in the end, that's how the team will progress to the next round.

So a formation and a system/style of play is not needed to win the game then ?

Just pump it long and hope for the best ........

Team that won last years tournament (Australasia leg) played ball on the floor/out form the back/very organised. Many teams, including the team that made the grand final did not apply the curriculum.

Seems safeguards are applied by coaches when the sheep station is up for grabs. (sweepers/clear the line with the bomb/strategically attack key opposition players with over the ball challenges)

Hills played ball on deck all tournament. In the semi's got kicked off the park. Artificial turf pitch was excellent for ball playing sides.

I would like to point out that Barney & i are not related.

with regards to Northern Clubs i enjoy watching and socialising at both clubs from friendships i have made over the years . . . . .

Apart from that Rabbit fellow, i can never find him when i am at the bar :P

Was shown on Hellenic Presence on Channel 44 last Tuesday night. Program is repeated on Sunday morning. The club has all our Man U games on DVD.

they get permission to take the video, air it? Few parents concerned their children were taped and air without consent. :|

interesting that the winner from this tournament now must play the winner of the Asian leg to go on to England for the tournament. i believe the Aus/NZ winner went straight to England in previous tournaments :?:

Yeah, i dont know why, however, reading up on it, they say it's been held in a few different countries since its inception in 1993, so maybe its China's turn.

This is how it looked last year.

http://www.manchesterunitedpremiercup.c ... manchester

The team from New Zealand that went last year did'nt win a game and finished bottom of their group.
With teams like that involved it would'nt be an easy ride.
