Re: FC Adelaide
A few players (from C's and one or two from B's) are at Vipers, some that live further south are at Sturt Marion. Most of the C's lads are trying to stick together in groups as the team had good friendships from the time they played together at FCA.

Re: FC Adelaide
If FC Adelaide had more people like you Fitz, the club would still be alive. We had 60 players on the books last year and we couldnt
find five to save the club. What a disgrace!

Re: FC Adelaide
The club was going to fold last year before the four of us got together and formed the new comittee. The boys knew that i could only do if for a year and then hopefully a few of the younger players could take over. It wasnt meant to be. It is a tough job being on the comittee. Why didnt you put your hand up this year blackadder?

Re: FC Adelaide
Well don't bag others for not putting hand up if you are not willing to. Luke & Ryan did work anyway, the rest of the "committee" where only there for self interest cos no other clubs want them. Don't try justify yourself. You & your sidekick (AA) have blood on your hands for the destruction of the great club which was formelly known as the Adelaide Old Boys.

Re: FC Adelaide
Comments like this killed the club. Everyone is happy to point fingers at whats wrong but bugger all were willing to put their hand up and fix it. This wasn't a problem just in the last year. This was the culture at FCA sadly.Blackadder wrote:You can talk Finnidi George you gave up 4 games before the season ended and said you were retired. Now thats a disgrace.
Re: FC Adelaide
i can't believe current and former players at FCA and Vikings would let their recently successful (both won Cups and/or Leagues in 2009) clubs simply die. no passion, no culture, no heart?
Re: FC Adelaide
Thats it. I don't think clubs can win a trophy then sit back next season and think it will happen again. Hard work got them there and only hard work will keep them there. Hard work = turning up to training regularly.il principe wrote:i can't believe current and former players at FCA and Vikings would let their recently successful (both won Cups and/or Leagues in 2009) clubs simply die. no passion, no culture, no heart?
Re: FC Adelaide
I come out to FCA a few years ago when Lemy was coaching. All the lads out there were a great bunch & made me feel really welcome. I played in the A's squad but was played out of position & got a bit dis-heartened so I decided to go back to the Sun Div. I thought the turn-outs to training then was quite good but obviously it died off since then. I was quite shocked when the club folded. I hope all the players have found new homes elsewhere.
RIP FCA!

Thats one thing that blew my mind when I started we had Lemy the bloke played NSL with the Vidmars Bros, Tobin and Ivanovic etc. And the club discarded him because he expected players to work hard and earn their spot! WTF! And then we wonder why the club gets relegated two years in a row with an attitude like that.Ronnie#10 wrote:I come out to FCA a few years ago when Lemy was coaching. Re: FC Adelaide
Completely agree mate. When I heard that we had Lemy I thought we'd have a solid season to be honest. Everyone should train to claim spots, that's how it should be everywhere. You have to earn your spot. The only thing I didn't like was he loved the 3-5-2 formation which unfortunately didn't work for us in my opinion. Your spot on though if players can just rock up when they want & know they will play A's no matter what why would they put in the effort? I think the writing was on the wall when he was sacked.Stuckey wrote: Thats one thing that blew my mind when I started we had Lemy the bloke played NSL with the Vidmars Bros, Tobin and Ivanovic etc. And the club discarded him because he expected players to work hard and earn their spot! Good luck to all the FC Adelaide boys who are training with the Comets C's side this year. Those boys are all true legends of the club. All the best lads.

Playing a bit of 5-a-side in London. But keen as mustard to get back into it when I eventually return to Oz!Ronnie#10 wrote:Completely agree mate. Re: FC Adelaide
5 a-side in London hay sounds good & good to hear you'll get back into it when you come back to Australia. I'm playing for Sacred Heart in the Collegiate League & it's great, should've done it years ago. This will be my second season & I'm coaching the B's with another guy. We had our most rewarding season last year so hopefully can go even better this year.Stuckey wrote: Playing a bit of 5-a-side in London.
