From what I am led to believe if there is a vote for any issues put to clubs each individual ffsa club would be allowed 1 vote each where as saasl clubs as a whole would only be allowed 1 vote. Hardly fair considering a $10-$15 levy per player could easily be voted to increase to $20-$25 a year later as we would easily be out voted. Also if you had a heap of money to invest personally would you go to an adviser who has a good history of investment or a poor history? If any merger were to take place they should come to us, a stable well run comp for many a yearhudsona wrote:+1..well saidKING NUGGETT wrote:I'm sick to death of hearing all this bullsh*t about the FFSA & SAASL...

Re: CLUBS GETTING CALLS TO JOIN STATE LEAGUE IN 2013
The problem's not at the playing or club level its at the league management level and currently the FFSA are unfortunately more amateurish then the Amateur League.
The only thing the FFSA has to bring to the negotiating table is the FIFA sanction and they dillusionally think that's all they need to worm their way in. If they didn't have that we would throw stones at them and there would be no discussion - they got nothing we need or want.

I think perhaps some people should check to see how much money FFSA has banked and not rely on hearsay.

all this talk about "money in the bank" is great... it shows that an organisation is financially stable but should that money not be put back in to the clubs that play in the association? Im aware that SOME needs to be kept for the old 'rainy day' theory and thats fine but once there is more than that allowance in the bank the first thought should be about lowering fees or encouraging clubs at a grass-roots level with financial assistance. This goes for the FFSA and the SAASL.
One, well organised, association would be better for football in the state! standing on the outside looking in, it seems that those at the top (of both associations) have forgotten what theyre there for....

Re: CLUBS GETTING CALLS TO JOIN STATE LEAGUE IN 2013
My take is that the fees the amateur league charge are quite reasonable.
What I would like to see them spend the money on:
- Referees, no-one can deny this requires urgent attention - more club refs is not the answer.
- Provision of non-financial support to clubs to help them 'run better'.
- An improvement to their administration - they are not terrible but there is definitely room for improvement.
I don't think this money should be distributed to the clubs. If they can use it prudently to do such things as freeze fees then that is great but clubs should take responsibility for their own well-being and ability to continue to operate.

freezing fees may not be "giving" the money back to the clubs, but this is the sort of thing i mean.... lowering the expenditure of clubs so they can use that money to improve equipment etc.... I by no means want to see an associations throw money into clubs so they can piss it away.BlackBrian_7 wrote:My take is that the fees the amateur league charge are quite reasonable.

Tell me have the SAASL notified there Clubs about the issues & sticking points they have with the FFSA or have the FFSA made there Clubs aware of the road blocks that has stop Unification Of Football in this State. Have we (the Clubs & Members) been given the Facts & ask for our opinion or asked to Vote? there is a lot of hearsay & speculation on this forum but little documented facts or any true knowledge on this topic. What I do know is The Unification of Football in this State is way too important to have decission makers sitting on there hands & this stalemate we have between both Associations ATM this needs to be sorted out sooner rather than later. This us against them has gotta Stop!
I do believe that the SAASL is acting in the best interest of there Clubs & Members I also believe that they have done & are doing a Fantasic job for Amateur Football in this State. I'm also aware that a group of FFSA Clubs approached them to Administer a break away competition & that most of the reason for that was the Rising Cost & burden to those FFSA Clubs with Association Fees & Competition Entry Fees. I also know that the SAASL turned them away when they couldve quite easily put a knife through the heart of the FFSA.
I believe the FFSA has lost touch with the Clubs & the South Australian Football Community in general. There back door tactics & responses to refusal from the SAASL to jump on board with the FFSA, the Gorilla Tactics they employed has been nothing but discraceful & a true indercation that these People in Power have self interest & not the betterment of Football in this State in mind.
Where to from here???
We can all do what we've done for the last 3 years & watch this bullsh*t continue, where a FFSA Club can't even have a Freindly against a SAASL Club WTF!!!
Where we say the FFSA is sh*t they got nothing we want or need & vice versa.
Or WE can Protest & Pertition & Make a Stand for Football in this State!
The People in Power need to know that ALL Clubs & Members in this State Want & Demand Unification of Football.
We want them Back at the Negotiation Table with a Pofessional Mediator & we want them to come up with solutions for UNIFICATION!!!
THEN GIVE US THE CLUBS & MEMBERS THE FACTS SO THAT WE CAN ULTIMATELY DECIDE & VOTE ON THE FUTURE OF "OUR GAME"!!!

Re: CLUBS GETTING CALLS TO JOIN STATE LEAGUE IN 2013
do you think the saasl will be happy with the ffsa for trying to poach clubs for the expanded state league next year?
or reducing entry requirements in a deal sweetener to this?
saasl clubs had a chance to jump ship with the metro league talks, but no one wanted to take the 'leap of faith'
as far as i am aware and from what has been written on the two threads about this topic is that fulham are investigating the option, especially with their juniors growing, while the rest are happy and have said thanks but no thanks

Both sets of leaders should get over it and do what's right.
We tried playing a trial against an Amateur outfit but told we wouldn't be insured - ludicrous.

I believe the only way for this to move forward if ALL CLUBS from the FFSA-SAASL & there Members start a movement to UNITE OUR GAME!!!
This needs both Associations to get together with a Professional Mediator & come to a Suitable Resolution For the Betterment of Football in this State...
