Played them in the reserves cup last year.

They're a bit rough around the edges, but decent blokes. We stayed for a beer and BBQ after the game and had a chat.

Cougars stuck in a time warp?? At least they don't have their heads stuck up their A_R_S_E_S!!!!

Get a grip Wanderers, you walk around telling everyone you're going to beat White City, you're going to beat this team and that....

I hear the Cougars took it to you in that game, nearly had you beaten.... Is that why you feel like you have to come on here and call the Cavemen, don't like being challenged by "inferior" opposition hey??!! Be careful what you say, the Cougars have a lot of HEART to go with their rocks and flint stone.... They're up to the challenge you're laying down....

Good luck to the Wanderers, I suggest you head back to Veneto Club and start polishing all those trophies you THINK you're going to win this year.... I imagine the Cougars are getting ready for the Away game already....

Ooops my bad, hahs. I saw a Wanderers thread and thought there was bragging haha. Ive watched Wanderers this year they are too good for Saturday Div2. Try the sunday leagues first, there are a few more teams that would give you a run for your money.

we've had our moments with Cougars in the past.. but have to say they were excellent guests this time around (perhaps coz they gave us a pasting i dunno!) - almost all of their Reserves and First team and supporters came back to the German Arms after the game and had meals. Well done.

I think the wanderers need to get their heads out of the clouds and come back to reality. Obviously if they were that spectacular, they wouldn't have won to the cougars by one goal and through a penalty. The Wanderers are the only team that has said they copped abuse, when we played them they seemed like nice blokes..

I suggest to the wanderers that they start worrying more about the game and less about how their hair looks.. it's soccer guys, not netball. If you can't cop a bit of back chat, stay at home with your mums cause its a tough sport and you have to be fit to play.

Arrogant Wanderers! You be the judge.

Post by Petsa »

Toyboy, you obviously need to make derogatory comments about other clubs to hide behind facts. Facts are, The so called Wanderers, didn't have the same Spirit and pride as the COUGARS on Saturday.

For the 1st 45min, The wanderers were wandering what was going on. It took 80 min to break through the COUGARS defence, and were given a cheap-ass penalty, which Wanderers players admitted wasn't after the game. Hahndorf, Dr D, Blue Eagles know what the COUGARS are about!

The same cannot be said for the wanderers, who didn't know what hit them last week. You may not have many stars left by half way through the season if every team hits the wanderers like the COUGARS did. Welcome to the 2nd div. Saturday!

Petsa you have got to be kidding.

I agree with the fact that Toyboy is making ridiculous comments and is doing neither himself or Wanderers any favours by the garbage that he is deciding to post, but the behaviour of some of the Cougars players and supporters on the weekend was shameful.

Whatever incidents happen on the pitch, should by rights stay on the pitch in a spirit of tough yet fair play. The king hit dished out by one of your defenders on a bloke looking the other way after what could best be described as an ankle tap should not be applauded as great play or a tough fighting spirit. Also the fact that the league doesn't see it fit that B sides should be privileged enough to receive official referees dictates that clubs be forced to use club supporters to do a job nobody wants to do. Cougars had a bloke who was in a physical state that did not allow him to be within 50 meters of the play at any time of the game which resulted in a batch of poor decisions, yet no one from the Wanderers took it upon them selves to spit on him. Yet when Wanderers provided someone for the second half, who's efforts were no better, can the same be said for Cougars?

I don't plan to tell you how to run your club, however I know for a fact that when a Wanderers player steps over the line they are made plainly aware that the same mistake wont be made twice. When a Wanderers supporter crosses the line they are made aware that the second time they will no longer be welcome.

I suggest that if King hitting and spitting on people are to be part and parcel of a clubs "fighting spirit" then you may be better off spending your Saturdays on Hindley St after dark than on the football pitch.[/quote]
