Why? Because these fans go to cause trouble. That's more important to them than the game.
God is an Englishman wrote:[4) afl doesn't have the same rivalries, no one would have been trying to get to them from the opposition.
Maybe if hooligans didn't try to start fights for no reason, clubs wouldn't have to limit the tickets sold.

I guess that's why AFL doesn't have home & away sections. People don't feel the need to fight with people unwarranted.
God is an Englishman wrote: 3) there was 2 of them, we're talking about 1,000 people here.
Again, why are 1,000 people all turning up together to a match without tickets? Surely they know that they don't really have a hope in that many tickets just magically appearing for them all to sit together!!!

Some fans do go to cause trouble, other just want to watch the game.

Grounds only hold certain amounts. This game is a sell out, should they sell tickets to seats that don't exist.

Obviously, 1,000 aren't going to appear but you only need 1 to appear.

I have travelled to a few games without a ticket and always got in.

northampton and ipswich - both in 95 and many other games all over London. liverpool fans do it in HUGE numbers for their big games.

Were they sell outs though? I cant imagine a Northampton v Millwall or Ipswich v Millwall fixtures being sell outs.

Ipswich v Millwall was a sell out, Northampton v Millwall was an all ticket game, a sell out to away fans and members only for home fans.

But if you (and I assume others) got it, they weren't real sell outs were they.

All tickets were sold = SELL OUT!!

Ipswich - I found another Millwall fan with a spare.
Northampton - the opened an extra section that wasn't going to be open previously.

I parked my car and asked around, someone said yes and sold me his spare ticket. SIMPLE!!

It was a 0-0 draw, huddersfield won and we were relegated. Long quiet drive home for me and my mate, who both got in.

Maybe, but it was clear where their blood lines were from. And no, I didnt ask for birth certificates either, but if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, looks like a duck, then its a good chance its a duck.
