U16 Competition 2007
Looks like most of the Super league clubs are fielding U16 sides this year. Will be the the Juniour Premier League age group to watch out for 2007. Impossible to pick top 4, unless someone's prepared to stick their neck's out for a prediction ??
Will this years U16s determine what division (A's or B's) next years U17s will play in, as the U15s currently do ?. If not then surely all the focus will be on fielding your strongest U15s side in order to keep next years U17s in the top division.
Correct me if I am wrong but any Clubs U16 team that finishes bottom of the table at the end of the season can field another team the following year. (wont get promoted or demoted where is the incentive)
I have to partly agree with stargazer re- revenue raiser for greedy clubs but also this age group is ideal for kids that are physically not ready to make the leap from 15s to 17s.

Adelaide City will field a strong team. I heard Blue eagles have most of the same players last year and they might be the one to beat becasue they made the JPL Cup final last year. I heard Campbelltown have a strong team this year and it would be good to see them and the others clash during the season.
Form is Temporary Class is Permanent

What an absolute joke this is!
Purely a money raiser for greedy clubs.
Why don't we form an under 18s as well?
I've heard differently, the FFSA has strongly urged ALL super league clubs to field a side in all the age divisions including U/16. This was brought in last year but was not taken seriously. This year from what I've heard the competition will be strong and there may even be two divisions in this age group.
How can clubs be greedy if they are following the directions of the FFSA ruling. Are you saying that the FFSA are greedy, because there will be more players registering to play football at the junior level. U/16 matches have allocated FFSA referees, so I think they are serious about this age group.
My top four will be
ABE
Adel. City
Modbury
Cumberland

Good choice on the top 4 antipasto
The U16's should also be viewed as a development pool for players that were not ready to go from U15's to U17's.
It would be interesting to see how many U16's last year are now playing U19's
Likewise how many U17's move up to U23's ?
Just a thought, remember all players develope at different rates, except Georgie Best of course, he was born with soccer boots on.
(His mother wasn't too pleased about that one i'm told)

would have been good to get a bit of this 16's hype last season,
people have said that it's a bit of a mickey mouse league,
but if you were involved in it, you'd know its much more than people think just looking in from the outside!
the top sides last season were of good quality.
and as it looks like 16's is here to stay, it would make a lot of sence to link 16's to 17's, instead of 15's to 17's.
thoughts?

metrostar10,
so what your saying is that the 12 clubs that've fielded an U16's squad are just doing it for the money...
and that they dont really care about their 16's at all?
...mate, you clearly have no idea about what your on about!
thats just what you want to believe i guess, says a lot about Metro too...

Out of Modbury`s 16 Team from last year : 6 are in 19`s & 1 at this stage is in 23`s.
Not bad for a mickey mouse league.( U/16 )
For those who actually went out and saw some games, would have seen some great football played.
Cumberland, ABE, Campbelltown, Playford & SASI girls weren`t walk over Teams. They had some great players who showed good skills & spirit. Northern Demons was also a surprise package at the end.
I haven`t liked the 16`s league from the begining, and is still very unsure about this league ( been involved from start ),
But I will give credit where, credit is due. Well done to all Clubs who participated & are again this year.
At the Cup Final, heard that U/16`s was a most entertaining game.
From Clubs that were there.
