Dutch Keeper Kicks Attacker

Post by Old Master »

Cup tie kicked into Dutch

A DUTCH Cup tie had to be abandoned last night after AZ Alkmaar keeper Esteban saw red for KICKING a would-be attacker.

Ajax were leading AZ 1-0 when a supporter approached Esteban.

But he tripped the fan and, enraged by the 'attack', kicked him twice.

That earned him a red card before AZ boss Gertjan Verbeek ordered his side to walk off in protest.

The referee was 100% correct in sending the keeper off

The intial kick was in self defence. The other two were unnecessary but you can see why he did it.

Hope the bloke who ran onto the field gets a life ban

The attacker is right up there with the failed suicide bombers who attacked Glasgow airport as the dumbest fucks ever

Hopefully they share a cell together

I can just imagine

'what you if for?"
"Suicide bombing"
'and?"
'didn't go off, you?"
'attacked a goalkeeper'
'and?"
'he beat fuck out of me"
Are you Bodo in disguise?

And to think we want to implement the "dutch system" over here!

Seems the bloke had too much of the local Amsterdam "soups".

Don't agree with the sending off. If it is correct according to the LOTG, they should be changed. This just shows that if a member of the opposition is having a good game, or you want to get rid of him, all that's neccessary is for one person to invade the pitch and either attack the player, or provoke the player to attack the invader and get sent off. Player should be able to defend themself until security arrives.

First kick should have been to the head.

If the keeper just defended himself only, no problem. But then when the bloke was down he laid the boot into him. Thats what got him sent off. Hey, I'd probably do similar, but the ref had no choice.

the ref should protect the players
as if bookin a player that got kicked and attacked 1st was in his mind

my 1st thought woulda been the players safety

If you google translate the article. It says that the ref had no choice but to send him off however due to the special circumstances they let him off.

Violent conduct
A player is guilty of violent conduct if he uses excessive force or brutality
against an opponent when not challenging for the ball.

He is also guilty of violent conduct if he uses excessive force or brutality against
a team-mate, spectator, match offi cial or any other person.

Violent conduct may occur either on the field of play or outside its boundaries,
whether the ball is in play or not

A player, substitute or substituted player who is guilty of violent conduct must
be sent off

it was in self defence, and good thing the red card was revoked. Player safety should be the most important thing. Would be different if he pulled someone out of the crowd then kicked the crap out of him
