Most players know where the goals are, just that many fail to realise how to get the ball to travel from their boots (or heads) in the general direction of where the goals are !!!

anyone have any updates/news on the vikings for 2012? did anyone hear or see any reps from them at the agm? was told they had a meeting last week to decide their future.
the last i heard they were not fielding 2 teams and moving from their findon ground as they could not afford the rent. i have heard they were likely to have one team in div 6 next yr, whats happened they were in Div 1 in 2010.
go you reds - are you still close to the club?

Hi I.P, nice first post... fishing perhaps

To be honest i havent had too much to do with the club of late as most of my friends have moved on or retired... not too sure where they are at, all i know is that their Coach David Pavic left due to being burnt out/ work commitments and wanted a break but is now coaching the Strikers first team in div 2
He has taken some players with him and has been contacting the rest to go over, a few friends have been having a kick around with there before pre season starts.
Honestly hope they dont fold as have had some great times there and shared in some great sucess... great buch of guys

Go you reds, everyone has a first post at some stage not sure why you think mine was nice? With a user name like Interested Party I was sure that it made it clear I was after any info on the club. I played some b's and c's a year or so ago for them and was keen to find out if they were not going to be around anymore as I want to have a kick again. Will be
disappointed if they fold also but have heard tonight that the committee don't want to do it anymore and John Vailas the president has been telling current players not to come back. You may have known him when you were there.

So..............................
A Saturday Premier League side will probably take over the venue, add to that an Icon coach - how many Vikings boys are interested in playing Saturdays?

Was only pulling your leg :D
Again, sad if they fold and very dissapointing if Johnny V said that, why dont you call/ask one of the other committee members to clear it up for you if your that concerened instead of listening/reading to rumors on here? :?

So has this actually been confirmed or not?

Great facilities on offer to other western suburbs clubs.

Maybe Beograd can look at this ground, I heard that they had lots of issues with ground clashes with FFSA youth teams.

I have been at the club for a few years and had a great time. Dave Pavic was the heart and soul of that club, even though his role was coach. His effort and drive was the only thing that made the club so successful. If they do continue his presence will be missed big time. However I will be moving on but leave with great memories, the reason why you play soccer. I hope that Dave can get more support at his new club, he deserves it. Thanks for the good times boys.

LOL @ Hard man, Dave was/is a great coach and has helped the club rise, but i would give more credit to the committee and long serving players that made the club what it is.... after all, no one person is bigger then the club :)
Harsh @ the support comment, after chatting with Dave, sounded like it was the players didnt support him as well as they could of

Perhaps a Pontians come back for you is in the making re ??

Totally agree. Not one person is bigger than a club, but you must agree that Dave was a very important piece of the puzzle. He stuck by the club when things were not looking good, and tried to keep the club up by any means.

Anyway, fuck Dave, this is about The Vikings and wish them all the best because they are a great club, with very nice grounds and deserve respect. I will miss all the laughs.

No big loss to the league just a chance for someone else to snap up the facilities on offer.

Teams like Royal Park and then Vikings come and go all the time in the amateur league.

Be around over 30 years then if you fold it might be sad - was always going to happen once the generation of players like Emilov, Jurassic and Carmine to name a few got too old - if ur club can't attract a bunch of decent players and people to replace the die hards this will happen.

Buon Voyage Vikings.
