Why is junior player registration so high in this state?
Why is it that Football NSW are able to charge less than half the FFSA’s player registration fee for their junior players?
For example, Football NSW charges $23.20 for U/6-8 9, and $26.15 for ages 10-17 years. This fee is inclusive of the National Registration Fee (NRF), Player Accident Support Program and Insurance & GST.
Little wonder there are some FFSA clubs finding it difficult to attract players when they have to charge exhorbitant playing fees just so they can cover the cost of FFSA affiliation, plus a separate FFSA fee for every junior team registered, and the player registration fee as well. And that is before the player has even stepped on to the park.

Questions that need to be adddressed by the FFSA through the Clubs standing committee.
Would have been handy if all the clubs stood together at the last few meetings.

If you are referring to the Junior Standing Committee, clubs don't get to see meeting agendas and have never seen minutes. So that would be handy as well!johnydep wrote:Questions that need to be adddressed by the FFSA through the Clubs standing committee.

The committee comprises the following people - are they all affiliated with FFSA clubs? - if so which clubs are they from?
Juniors’ Standing Committee
The Football Federation SA Juniors’ Standing Committee is to advise the Directors and the Chief Executive Officer on matters relation to junior Football competitions.

Bit pointless if you are not going to quote the comparable FFSA fee. To put things into perspective you could also quote how much, of say an $800 club registration, goes to the FFSA?themessenger wrote:Why is it that Football NSW are able to charge less than half the FFSA’s player registration fee for their junior players?

$58 per junior player paid to FFSA in 2011. I did say Football NSW are charging LESS THAN HALF so not very hard to work outGreen_Manalishi wrote:Bit pointless if you are not going to quote the comparable FFSA fee. Then add in the Team Registration fee which is around $225.00 per junior team. Plus the Club's affiliation fee which ranges from $3,500 State league clubs to $14K for Super league clubs.
If the economy keeps getting tougher and more people losing jobs then there will be less money going around for parents and the FFSA will be looking at some clubs folding. For most clubs it is just the sheer hard work and perseverance of a handful of volunteers which keep them operating.
Now the FFSA is imposing self-registration by parents or players for 2012. Yep, can really see that working.Was far easier for the parent to fill in a form and the club do the on-line registration for them, at least the club knew their players were indeed registered to play.
It seems the FFA/FFSA dream up ways of making volunteers lives harder rather than simplifying matters. Self registration might work for a small percentage of parents or players, but inevitably it will be the club chasing the others who have not bothered to register and it will just cause more headaches than anything else. "If the system aint broken, don't fix it"!

If this is true, then this is a joke ........... not all parents are computer savvy !!themessenger wrote: Now the FFSA is imposing self-registration by parents or players for 2012. It's an added job and increase in the workload for the team managers, coaches and club admin staff. Firstly the managers/coach needs to pass on the information to parents on how to register, then they need to follow up and make sure all the team members have completed the task. From there the Junior Delegate needs to check all teams and make sure that all players have completed the registration, and also check that the club hasn't gained extras from player/parents incorrectly selecting a club.

So Football NSW doesn't have club registration fees?themessenger wrote:Then add in the Team Registration fee which is around $225.00 per junior team. Plus the Club's affiliation fee which ranges from $3,500 State league clubs to $14K for Super league clubs.

Again you haven't answered the question. Out of an $800 junior rego fee how much goes to the FFSA. I reckon it's less than $100.
This debate has been done so many times before. At the end of the day there are junior sports/ activities that cost a lot less than football. There are others that are very similar in cost and others that cost a lot more. $25 a week for a baby sitting service is not that much in the greater scheme of things

Re: Why is junior player registration so high in this state?
To help pay the players in the senior teams, where else does the money come from, yes a bit from sponsers etc but mainly from junior rego's.
Re: Why is junior player registration so high in this state?
This self registration system would have to be the biggest load of rubbish. How many other sports do you need to self register for???
I suppose the following season they will ask clubs to organise their own season fixtures, and then the season following something else.
Appears that more and more is put into this association with less and less actually being done by the asociation.
As for rego,fees, call it what you like, I have had concerns over this like many others, you only need to look around at the clubs and see, like businesses, expenses are a major cost and the clubs aren't displaying excess wealth created from junior fees.
The rego component in our state compared to NSW is simple, how many kids play in NSW compared to SA? Economy of scale suggests double so it makes sense their rego is half.

Team Affiliation Fees for 2012;
Under 12 to Under 17 $230.00 inc GST
Small Sided Football (FFSA Run only) $115.00 inc GST
Player Registration Fees for 2012;
Players 5 years to 17 years $55.00.
NOTE: All Player Registration Fees will include the National Registration Fee, Player Insurance and Football Federation SA Player Registration Fees.
As far as NSW is concerned or any other state, formular would be fixed costs divide by number of players = fee.
Nothing wrong with self registration, will not suit everyone, but the clubs can do the registration for players/parents who are not computer savvy by having a laptop with mobile internet at the club and get them to do it on the spot (aswell as help them on the spot if required)

The only reason I can see for self registration is so a data base of email's can be compiled.
Contacts detail for over 5000 names could be quite valuable.
I can only see grief , and we only have 160 kids so how will Zeljko and bigger clubs get through them all ??
