Re: WNPL - The Season Begins

Great to have NPL back on again, looking forward to Friday. I think it will be very close in the top 5 and the bottom 3 will be quite separate. Metro, City, WA, Uni and Fulham while Inter, Cumby and Campbelltown fight it out to avoid relegation. MJ played for Campbelltown on Sunday in their 7:1 ...

Re: Round 4 WPL

The B license coach out coached the A license coach on the day! Uni defending with numbers behind the ball then quick transition out to the Chilean striker, Sturt had no answers. Changes for Sturt with taking off 9 goal striker and their CB defender didn't seem to help. Uni's new import striker was ...

Adelaide v Sydney W 0 : 5 ouch! anyone go? Good crowd, nice night, good game with Sydney way better on the night. Spencer for Sydney was fantastic. The long ball from Barbieri to Moore to run on to past the defense, effective in recent wins wasn't working. Couple of the young Matildas got dragged ...

Re: Cup Round 6th July div 4/5 collegiate ?

Interesting points. Didn't misunderstand, maybe didn't make it clear enough, half the teams have been created because Collegiate League exists. Yes they could disperse amongst divisions for possibly more even competition but as a guess you'd lose half the teams as soon as that occurred A large part ...

Re: Cup Round 6th July div 4/5 collegiate ?

I'd imagine something like half the players in collegiate wouldn't have played club before and have only been enticed in to structured team soccer because of the Collegiate league. 2 leagues would help a lot while a closer alignment to the men's collegiate league would possibly also help. I think ...

Finals still possible- next week's Brisbane game a must win. Then if Brisbane loses to Melbourne, and we beat Newcastle on the 8th, we come 4th. Come on you Reds! I think I'm correct- someone point out if that's not right. JS I can't see finals possible unless Canberra drop lots of points. Brisbane ...

Got to say.. but I knew with quality coaching not only Ross, but with Joel Porter and Paul Pezos, things would move forward. You would have also noticed that behind Ross, a guy was operating a lap top and game controller. This was linked wirelessly to a panning video camera on top a telescopic pole ...

Re: Round 2 - Lady Reds vs Victory

Reasonable result for the L/Reds but still a loss. Most of play seemed dominated by MV. A few things though. 2 experienced midfielders starting in defence although McCormick has been played in defense in most trials. Moore moved to right presumably to curb Catley & DeVanna influence? ...just ...

Lady Reds Vs Girls NTC

Lady Reds vs Girls NTC 6 nil (2:0 half time) First half entertaining but second half dull. 2 maybe 3 goals came from simple pass back errors from NTC resulting in immediate goals for L/Reds. Waterhouse played for NTC and dominated especially in first half while Chidiac also played NTC and was a ...

Seriously is that the real score. If so what went wrong I didn't think anything really went wrong - the lads NTC team were massively superior in skill, technique, speed, strength & structure. Great hit out for the Lady Reds, MB got a good work out in goals. Large coaching bench will be required for ...

Say what you want about the state of women's football- this is one of the more competitive prems season in recent memory. Tomorrow there are three match ups, each of which could go either way. The fourth was Sturt-Fulham which ended in a 2-2 draw. I think tomorrow will be very interesting. Picking ...

This community cup draw is ridiculous. How will teams in division 3, 4 and collegiate have any hope in beating teams in division 1 and 2. Congrats to Lady Reds - great win! Yes could have easily netted a couple more. Swapping Erceg to holding midfield with Wallace worked great. While Checker did well at CB. Moore - great runs behind defense supported with good balls. Newcastle woeful though. Swapping Day to left CB would have probably ...
