Re: AFLW Kicking goals and Soccer is a Slumber
You know what they say…Lies damn lies and statistics!! It’s like the average wage….Not many get the average. It’s like the Proportionate spend in OZ vs rest of the world…Has no bearing on what the women’s football landscape is actually like. For the fastest growing sport. With huge numbers of player ...

Re: AFLW Kicking goals and Soccer is a Slumber
I think you'd find the proportionate spend on women's football compared to mens in AUS would be at a higher percentage than the rest of the world bar USA.

Re: Good Coaching Bad Coaching
So for example you have 2 players out of 10 that have the say 90% of the ball when they on the pitch (they are all on 80% for equal game time). Then the other 8 have to struggle with each other to get a chance for possession in the other 20% of the game when the other 2 players are not on the pitch ...

Re: Good Coaching Bad Coaching
My personal opinion is that SSG should be a club version of lunch time football. Let the kids 'hog' and have it high scoring, try keep structure to a bare minimum (obviously you have to teach fundamentals). My greatest football education was in the school yard playing 20 vs 20 on a pitch that was ...

Re: What's a GOOD junior coach worth?
How do you expect to attract any of these people with good football knowledge from 20-late 30's years old when they can go earn a minimum $150+ a week from playing which requires A LOT less work than coaching. The ones that are late 30's on wards usually do not start from juniors anyway, as they ...

Re: What's a GOOD junior coach worth?
i think most good junior coaches aren't too worried about the money. i think most clubs should look at helping their Good coaches upskill themselves with financial support doing their licenses etc. Good point, and I agree! But have you seen the expense now of upgrading license and the time it takes ...

I'm not sure you can judge those coaches on the amount of playing experience they have. Some of the finest coaches in the world have little or no playing experience. Gerard Houllier (Amateur level) Arsene Wenger (Amateur level) Sven-Goran Eriksson (Amateur level) Jose Mourinho (Amateur level ...

Re: too young for u18?
Fair comments matty2323 but I think you will find 'game' training (depending on how you define it) continues into 18s and perhaps beyond. There are players aged 13-14 that are more advanced in game intelligence than many I have seen in the 16s and 17s, and these are often readier to play 18s than ...

Stereotyping to the max here .... that 'all' junior clubs fees go to senior wages ..... a bit like all Muslims are terrorists ?? (Which they're not of course !!) I know where our junior fees go .... Re: Team Withdrawal - U17A JPL
everyone goes on and on about development, even WA, yet given a chance to show it and WA would rather pull a side. Why not send up your U15 side to U16 (they have won the last two leagues and look set to win again, are they being challenged?). You could then send your U15 JSL side to U15JPL ...

I think his Bayern observations are not accurate ... PS .... ball retention = the other team can't score goals if you keep the ball Although I agree with your comments in theory Zeljko & most people would. However, try to explain these results. Barca : 1 vs Celtic : 2 (2012) possession by Celtic 16 ...

Get your facts right! http://www.smfc.com.au/files/2013-Youth-Development-Program-Fact-Sheet.pdf i prefer to pay 3200 for this program than any 800 in SA Fair enough I'd rather put this kind of money into a fund each year to pay for my sons uni fees instead But is that we he'd rather do? I guess only time will tell, whether FFSA and clubs like Adelaide City made the right choice; unless you and your club (AC) have some facts and figures to share? I'm not from AC and have no facts or figures, but one thing I do know is you cannot compare the UEFA 17's and 19's elite national ...

Craig Goodwin - a talent that many of of SA's local coaches knew of, but missed by the FFSA State teams, SASI and the Adelaide United Youth coaches. How many more players will our system miss once the U17 league is scrapped? Some players need longer to develop, they may not start to show their full ...

How many defenders have prevented a goal from having a handful of shirt or a block on the striker and haven't given away a foul? It's the strikers way to get even by bringing on contact and receiving a penalty. You do it to get an advantage for your team and if you get caught you get punished with a ...
