Re: Melissa Barbieri fundraising for her stay in Adelaide
No GKs in SA are half as good as Barbieri. We should be honoured that she even considered playing for Adelaide given the team's history.

Re: NSR
My belief is that following the US college pathway through NSR is a mistake. They offer you an online profile, etc. but there are NO GUARANTEES that US Colleges will bite. If they don't like what they see, the upfront payment will be wasted - and more disappointingly, your daughter will be ...

Re: Adelaide Airport Womens Premier league results round 4
SA - Ever wonder why most people play in this state? There is no feasible career for female soccer players, so why are there so many out there playing? Because they love the game and have fun playing. Don't be confused, if players are playing for fun, it doesn't mean that they don't have the ...

Re: Adelaide Airport Womens Premier league results round 4
15-0 is detrimental to the game. The types of people playing in reserves are either aspiring to play prems, but are too young or they are just there for fun. This type of result will result in players leaving the game. No one wants to get beaten 15-0. Metro should have had some perspective and not ...

Good on you Mullan123.
At the end of the day, soccer is meant to be about having fun. If you want to put your money towards playing the game that you love, go for it I say.

Re: Lady Reds vs Lady Tards
If you're not the coach, you shouldn't be yelling out instructions to the team. Can't you see that they were already disheartened? In a match where they were already losing, going on and on and yelling at the girls only makes things worse. Personally, as a supporter, I don't appreciate hearing ...

How is such an enquiry undertaken?
Who does the analysis?
Has this ever happened in the past with other football communities/states?

Re: Wanderers vs Lady Reds
Paying players etc will change nothing. A solid program of fitness and development is required. And it doesn't involve rehashing old has beens in the coaching circles. So do you not think that paying players will increase the competition and encourage younger players to strive for the top spot? Of ...

Re: Wanderers vs Lady Reds
Getting adequate funding for Adelaide United will be the answer to all problems. Firstly, international & interstate players will have an incentive to come and play for the Lady Reds, hence increasing the level of competition to get into the team. This issue of the squad only getting together ...

What's on the pitch stays on the pitch and what's off the pitch stays off.
People can do whatever they want once the final whistle has blown. As long as the joking around and socialising doesn't occur within the 90 mins, what's the problem?

Re: Lady Reds vs Lady Tards
The two most disappointing things from the game weren't even on the park! 1. The coach got sent off. 2. The person screaming out instructions and criticism from the sideline. People need to get themselves together. The coach is showing his players that it's ok to disrespect game officials, lose your ...

Re: Wish we were signing a replacement player like this!
The team needs to get their act together and attempt so get some real funds. This is crap that they have no money. What is being done about it? They will stay a weak team unless some serious funds are injected into the team. People wonder why we're doing so poorly - there is no attraction for ...

Re: Lady Reds vs Sydney FC
I agree that the possession game is doing nothing good for the team. They try to build up play from the back, but for various reasons, they can't do that successfully. 4 or 5 passes might be strung together in the defensive third, but sooner or later, the opposition closes in and takes the ball. The ...

Re: Promoting the W-League
I think that another positive about playing before the men's games, besides the extra publicity, is that they would be playing in the late afternoon, at around 4:30pm, when the heat starts to die down. Playing at 2 or 3 in the afternoon in the middle of summer was a stupid idea. Clearly the people ...

There is no payment because there is limited sponsorship. There is limited sponsorship because the team has consistently under performed since the W-League started. The team will continue struggle to get sponsorship due to their under-performance and they will continuously under perform because ...

Disappointing result. It's a pity we couldn't see the game to comment of areas which need to be improved on and things that the team did well.

Re: Next Matildas coach???
You don't have to be an English teacher to know how to spell. My point was that if you're going to grill me about my comments, do it properly. I should have articulated what I meant about the formation in a clearer manner so you understood. I realise most teams in SA now use the 4-3-3 formation. I ...

Re: Next Matildas coach???
I just didn't understand your post and the relivance to the question. So what formation is it that women play that men don't? Being the national curriculum are based around a 4-3-3 for kids right the way through I'm pretty sure women's path way teams would follow the same. Games being unpredictable ...

Re: Next Matildas coach???
So you deny that formation-wise, the men's and women's games are dissimilar? The differences between the women's game and men's game are so great, anyone to think otherwise is kidding themselves. The games in the W-League are so unpredictable as a result of this, which makes the women's game more ...

Obviously, it depends on the opposition, etc. But from watching the W-League, generally the game is more constricted. Players tend to bunch more.

Re: Next Matildas coach???
Attempting to treat the women's game like the men's game is such a mistake. There are so many differences ranging from publicity to formation and how the game is played. If people, particularly coaches, can't recognise that female players thrive under different conditions to male players, then how ...

Just because it's an elite competition, doesn't mean coaches have a free pass to yell at players and officials... You are comparing the W-League to the EPL - Seriously???? These competitions aren't even close to being in the same ball park so to speak. Also, there is a massive difference between ...

If there is no incentive to play for the Lady Reds, how do they expect to field a competitive side? Props to ...

Re: Lady Reds Ready to Roar
Did Sensation do as poorly as the Lady Reds? If not, then surely the quality of players in SA is not lacking. I agree with the comment about girls forming groups and purposely playing to ensure their friends look good on the pitch and excluding newcomers. Only the coach is able to do something to ...

Re: Lady Reds Ready to Roar
I agree that it was a mistake to play at Hindmarsh. It didn't favour our strengths. Our fitness still has a lot to be desired. With MJ and Quigs - they are both similar players. We need some variation up front. Where is our creativity? Where are our fast, dangerous strikers? It's all well and good ...
