Re: AMUSING EVENTS

The most amusing thing I have seen this year was when the groundskeeper marked out the lines by hand, using only a bucket full of white powder. You can only imagine the mist exploding as the ball hit the line. Another amusing line marking; Whilst our reserve grade was playing, the groundskeeper ...

Elizabeth Downs?

What is going on at the Downs? Ageing list? Complacency? Players leaving, long term injuries? A stronger, closer league? If anyone has seen or played for them this year, please shed some light on this situation. Bodo, I'm looking at you as an objective, un-biased view. I am used of the Downs being a ...

Re: Battle of the BBQs

Salisbury Florina, after training wins hands down.

Chicken wings, with all the spices, and topless barmaids. Can anyone beat that?

Re: Last Game....

My last game as B grade captain did not go to plan, a determined SA Stars outfit squashed my dreams of finishing on a high. But when I told the A team (whom I manage) that I quit playing to set the team up straight and give them a full time manager, they performed, and won the game 7-5 after giving ...

Re: SUNDAY RESULTS 6th JULY - ROUND 11

DIV 5 A; Wolves 7-5 SA Stars A lot of the players from both teams played 2 games today, but the Wolves actually done SA over with fitness and fight after giving them a 0-3 start in the first 10 mins, then fought and clawed their way back to secure a hard victory. Even giving the Stars a penalty in ...

Re: Last Game....

I have been vomiting all morning, I'm telling them at training tonight. I am 30, in good health, and can play full games for reserves and seniors in the same day. But being the senior coach means the priorities have shifted, I may never get this opportunity again and I have to put all my effort into ...

Last Game....

Just to let everyone know, not that anyone will care, but I am playing my very last game this weekend. A 20 year football career is having the curtain drawn down on it for the last time. Why am I telling you this? well, I am not telling the lads that I am captain over until the team talk before the ...

Re: Best & Fairest Votes

We have a best and FAIREST, but a red card means you cant win it, not a yellow. And even then, the committee get together and discuss the card. Sometimes, the best team thing a defender can do is to attract a card for himself.

Does anyone care about DIV 5?

I rate Simba, they are nuts, I think they will dominate the lower leagues all the way to div 2 before they dont progress as clear champions  Does anyone care about Div 5? Or should I leave this forum up just for me to talk to me about how poor Spirit has died and how the poor Wolves would be ...

Re: kick the ball out when a player goes down injured?

Spirit are gone now. They tried hard every week and never gave up, but just couldn't put it together. I remember Jay Walking saying they didn't turn up for their cup match against Ingle Farm in the round before last. I didn't know they disappeared but looking at the division five tables they are no ...

Re: kick the ball out when a player goes down injured?

It is just upsetting when the lads work so hard, and the forward gets past the last defender, just to be treated like a dog because their forward is rolling around the ground like he has been snipered. Here is a clue, it is their forward, and he has no impact on their defence at all. If the ref ...

Re: kick the ball out when a player goes down injured?

I used to advise the Lads to kick it out, I would rather be known as a fair team rather than animals. But, I have changed my thoughts throughout the season. Watching Spirit 2007 and Gawler especially, I realised that nice guys finish last. We have had many situations where they attack, and then when ...

Re: backflips.

We played against Simba, and they were doing bicycle kicks all the way up the field, from defence to forward. When they score, the whole team do backflips. They can also jump vertically 6 ft high.....head LEVEL with their feet. They are hard to play against because of their sheer creativity, I just ...

Re: GROUND A BLOODY DISGRACE!!!!!

Try playing div 5, we are a new club (Wolves), have barely had a home game, play one and then have a bye or two, and all the playing fields are cow paddoks.

Well, except ours, which has not been used besides Juniors and Colts, and Gawlers pitch which is the State Leagues ground.
