Also the State league will be no more.
Cumberland have advertised their senior trials as Div 1 - they won't be in NPL next year.

State League is now "Div 1"

Re: Cup Round - Quarter Finals Fixtures

I thought that only applied in the first round - I guess not. Three of the Reserve teams are there because they had a forfeit. Cheers I always thought this was the case as well - coincidentally, it works this time because the same teams survived the first round... I guess we wait until the website ...

This may be a silly question but does anyone know where I can find the cup draw for the games this weekend?

Re: WNPL Round 4

Perhaps instead of looking to move to a standard interchange rule there needs to be some kind of 'injury interchange' so teams could replace an injured player for a period of 10-15 minutes, and then the injured player can return to the field if they are cleared...

Re: A-League Grand Final Day

Well it seems they've rescheduled the Friday night games that were scheduled for the final on 22nd April, so you would think they may do something similar for games whose scheduled times may clash with the final - assuming AU get through to the grand final of course.

Re: WNPL

It appears Sturt Marion hierarchy have conceded they are unable to meet the criteria and have indicated they will withdraw from WNPL and re-nominate for the State League in 2016. The FFSA will be notified as early as next week of their decision. Credit must be given to the Sturt Marion Board for ...

silver lining or not - if the spectators are going to get abusive towards players as it sounds like in the other post (wasn't at the game so pure speculation on my part), I'd rather play a game with no spectators.

Re: Women's Premier Cup - Round 1

So what does it tell us about our premier league standard if reserves team can press like someone said previously? Not a lot. One would hope that the Reserves - ie the girls who would be called upon to play prems in the case of injury or lack of players - would be able to keep a close game to a ...

All the reserve teames pressed all the prem teams, there could've been an upset at any park so 9 - 0 shows a prems team being pressed? 7 -2 shows a prems team being pressed? It now seems a little pointless having had the reserves teams in the same cup. The best cup was when they had it grouped in ...

Pretty sure it was 2006 & I think it lasted for a grand total of one year... because obviously this structure causes less headaches for FFSA...

One elimination round and then quarter finals... what's even the point?!

Re: Where are things at

Results don't always show a true indication of how the comp is panning out. Yes it shows the top & bottom teams, but that doesn't always mean anything. I think its a more competetive league this year (albeit slightly). It's good to see Cumby back winning some games & some closer score lines between ...

Its always going to happen. Always has, always will. It might not be right, but that's not going to stop anyone. & if they are successful at "poaching" a player then maybe that player wasn't really happy where they were. Thats what it has to be about at the end of the day. Enjoyment for the player.

Uni were lucky to not have their keeper sent off after she blatantly took out the striker outside the box. Cumberland played a cracking game and word on the street is that they probably had more chances and deserved to win. Good on them for taking a point from one of the top teams. People shouldn't ...
