Re: AFL Returns to Hindmarsh
It's a positive in that any other users of the ground should, over time, reduce the cost of hiring the place. Having said that, it'd be nice to know how much the AFL are being charged compared to AU and I wouldn't be surprised if the AFL are getting a better deal. It's a negative in that it's being ...

Re: Never self-report
Whether its an a-league salary cap thing or even an ASADA-type thing, the lesson is not to be a goody-2-shoes and self report on the expectation that you'll be treated leniently. And players , when questioned , should just 'do not recall' - dont cooperate - let the authorities earn their effin ...

Re: $85 Cat A to see the socceroos
Also must be said. How clueless was the game announcer? many, many mistakes. It does absolutely no favours for Adelaide ever hosting another international again when you have such an amateur job being done behind the scenes.... Aww fair go, it was fun waiting to see what he got wrong next. I reckon ...

Re: No Harry
Lucas Neil came and wanted to play. Had a groin injury so couldn't BUT, he sat on the bench, led his team on and then spent a large part of the second have doing 'warm up' drills at the northern end. He would have known he wasn't going to play and could have worn a suit in the stand or stayed in the ...

Re: $85 Cat A to see the socceroos
$85 is that bad for the best seats ... it is for me but ... I know people who have the readies to spend whatever to do whatever and they wouldh't blink at that price, nor would they consider sitting anywhere else. It was noticeable tonight that the stands were full (apart from the Southern) so the ...

Re: FIFA Protest at Australia vs New Zealand
Sep is a really nice bloke and doing a wonderful job ... his mother told me ... or was it his cat. Loved the Blatter Out 'banner' (it was spelt in individual letters) in the southern stand at half time. (What have they done to that wonderful old stadium, it looks dreadful now and the planned rebuild ...

Re: Record crowd tipped at Adelaide Oval
21,000 crowd surprised me looked like there we more at this game than the AU v Victory game. Yup, only 21,000. Every game played at AO has had a smaller crowd than the previous one (I think, someone will correct me I'm sure). True, the weather was ... um ... challenging, and half the team was 'out ...

How about the team manager do what he is suppose to do, how hard is it to remember the cards. Lets be honest not a lot for them to do or remember. Yep it's such a cushy little number, every year you get parents fighting over whose wants to be team manager. Easy enough to have the cards when ...

Re: 28/6 Results
Shouldn't u/17 be just that? You'll find they ARE U/17, just normally playing at a higher level. That same Birkalla team has players eligible to play in the U/15s but are assigned to the U/17 team for this season. Clubs shuffle kids all over the place but despite accusations to the contrary, it's ...

U/17 A Adel City 2 W.T Birkala 1 any other 17 A results I heard city dropped some 19s for this one. I allowed one of my players to go down and help the 17s as they only had 11 players, plus he started on the bench. He only came on as one of the 17s got injured. Is that all cleared up for you ...

The problem with 'invitation only' is people can slip through the cracks and miss out. There are plenty of examples where the 'invitations' only went out to favoured players or, more often in junior organisations, the sons of favoured individuals. Open trials are much fairer and a sensible fee ...

sorry all this was only a post to look for players to play soccer/football in 2009. I did not belive that people would get this up set about it. Re: Adelaide City U/16 and U/17 R looking For Players
what is the cost to put your child in an AC under 16s or 17s team? anyone? it costs $950 for an U13 this year. What a bargain! I know a lad who priced going there in the U17s, just as an exercise as he's already with another club - $1000 WITHOUT any kit (playing shirt, socks, etc). It's expensive ...

It's tough mate and I understand where you're coming from. You can really only make your decision based on the coach - what he teaches and how he does it. That means you're relying on word of mouth really. I'd suggest you NOT waste too much time asking your mates. Their input is important because ...

Re: Eligable for 15's?
Doesn't matter about the season mate, it's the YEAR you were born in that counts. With the rejuvinated U16's league, you might even get a spot there and lads your age have regularly played in the 17's. Let your club decide where to use you.

It's probably appropriate to point out how this year's division occurred - originally there was going to be one league but they had so many teams apply, they divided it into two. I think it worked too. Although the NE league appeared stronger, I think that was mainly due to the dominance of Para ...
