Re: Lady Reds Coach To Quit

Why is it that in SA the 15s play in the Premier League competition but in the other states their 17s NTC team play in Premier League and the 15s play in reserve grade?

Re: National Championships

If you are going for the experience of a week away with friends, go for it. But if you are going for the competition don't bother, it is the Vikings nationals so you'll probably end up playing 5 rubbish regional Queensland teams and a "NSW" team that is really just a local 2nd div club side wearing ...

Re: 2011 FFA National Fustal Championships

Zeljko, I am telling you that the junior state team and premier league players do not play in winter, I am in direct contact with people involved with these teams and they have told me so. Most of those centres would run only social level senior comps over the winter if they run any comps at all. I ...

Re: 2011 FFA National Fustal Championships

The kids in the eastern states do not play futsal all year round, that is a myth. The NSW league is a 14 game league. Once the outdoor starts up their kids won't step on a futsal court until the next summer. Their state teams are also only selected in November and have about a dozen sessions ...

Re: Good luck to both U14 & U15 State Teams

Tony Vidmar was coach of the 15s. One of the parents told me he was in the selector's box on a regular basis between games. So 5 of his players get selected. Same thing apparently happened with his institute team at the start of the year. SASI finished 2nd but received extra bonus points to move ...

Re: FFA Futsal Nationals

Zeljko, whoever is feeding you your info is wrong. I can guarantee that the elite players who attend nationals would do a similar amount of games to the SA kids. The NSW Premier League has 14 games and Super League 12 games and once those comps finish 95% of kids won't touch a futsal ball until the ...

Re: State Teams

That may be the case pvfc, but NSW and Victoria (Metro and Country) enter their U13 teams and they are the only other states that enter the girls so for me it is (or was) an U13 comp and SA sent an overage team.

Re: SA Futsal Teams Head to Nationals

When I had a look at the draws last night there were 2 SA teams in the 12 Boys, but only 1 12s team is listed on the FFSA site. Does anyone know who is in this second team? Is it some sort of rebel team?

Re: Friendship Games

SA sent 2 teams, Red and Blue, with both teams finishing with 2 wins from 6 games. No results were officially kept which is why it isn't on the FFSA website but from I heard if there was a table the SA teams would have finished 5th and 6th out of 7 teams. I'm not sure about all the scores but the SA ...

Re: Futsal Forum

I think the real reason Qld is not attending the FFA Nationals is because they are no longer able to compete at that level. Take out the 14 girls and open women and there isn't much to speak of. Even the much acclaimed open men with their professional Brazilian coach only won 1 match out of 6 and ...

Re: Nationals

I agree the men's team would need to be coached during the year so they know each other by the time the nationals come up. A suggestion if I may is to train the team once a week in-between their out door commitments to keep their basic Futsal skill up and teach them playing systems like 5 player ...

Just to let you guys these "full time" states aren't too different from ours. ACT only have 12 game seasons in most age groups and their open mens team that won the title only began training in mid december. NSW play 14 game seasons and selected their teams in mid November. Once their outdoor ...

Sting, From what I have seen the "stingrays" wouldn't get close to the top teams at nationals so stop talking yourself up. You say you have played the best open state teams so when did you play ACT Cobras or NSW Thunder? They were by far and away the best teams at nationals. When did you play the ...

I think the age groups for futsal are a bit different because nationals is in January. For the 2008 Nationals the age group you play in is whatever age you turned in 2007. I know it sounds stupid but thats the way it is. So to play u19 youth at nationals you have to be born in 1988 or after.

Judging from that table they can finish either 2nd or 3rd. NSW is already on 15 so they can't be beaten, SA is on 13 and will stay on 13, QLD can finish on 13 with a win over NSW and would go above SA because of a better GD. Regardless of what happens on the final day, a top 3 finish is an excellent ...

It is an u16 tournament and they are u15. I'm sure an Australian u16 team would beat them 3-0 as well. By the way, they won their third and final game against Korea 3-0.

In the older age groups the Kanga Cup isn't as tough. There usually isn't that many teams. The younger age groups (11s-14s) are very competitive though.

Another SA result: Adelaide City 12s were beaten 7-2 in the final by Korean team. The Koreans were absolutely amazing.
