Re: Croydon and Fulham
Drain? Not sure about fulham's situation however, a great % of the boys fees are goi9ng to pay for the seniors team. Girls? some of the feels go towards senior men's and very little if any towards the senior women. It's all relative and certainly not a drain. Fulham? Good cash cow from juniors up ...

Thank you to everyone for their respectful replies and differing perspectives. Many valid points. We can all agree to disagree because what we have all been discussing will continue to happen. There are very good clubs stuck in mid to lower table that are running on the goodwill of many people ...

Re: future of saasl and csl
Maybe time to do away with separate Sunday and Sat comps & have one joint SAASL hierarchy as suggested on here. I think there will always be a place (market) for amatuer players. Just depends on how itll look. This. I see it as a positive for the state that more clubs are ready and willing to step ...

Re: Croydon
What would the result of this be in SA? How big should WNPL squads be and if you don't get selected to play WNPL or need to top up game time do players drop to D1 should the club have them? D1 just becomes your reserves, but by a different name. Currently the gap between Reserves and WNPL is ...

This is a left field idea but..... They need to expand the WNPL to 12 or 14 teams Push 4 of these 5 teams up from the WSL Campbelltown Grove Vista Jets or Jags These 5 teams are quite clearly streets ahead of the rest of the competition in WSL Then merge WSL with DIv 1 to create another 12 team ...

Re: Croydon
We need a third tier in the women's. There's too much of a gap between the top and bottom half in div2. Three divisions of 8 would be better for a few years until levels and clubs settle. They'll also play an extra three matches per season. Just have to pluck four new clubs from somewhere :thumbup ...

Re: Croydon
Interesting question. Personally, the big scores against Croydon are a farce. I can tell you that from one team's perspective, they se no glory in playing and winning by a large margin. The team know they have a job to do and play against an opponent however, from a player's perspective, there is ...

What about stopping real crime instead of this petty insignificant rubbish. Wasting Police, legal system and media resources is such a waste of people's time and extremely costly. real crime, like BLM protests, locking people in houses during covid lockdowns??? Clearly you live for online debate ...

Re: Croydon
Would a third division have been better than a second division reserves? Adding the reserves was supposed to make the jump to WNPL easier for the club that gets promoted, rather than having to come up with a new team when they get promoted. Good in theory but it will probably be a glorified U17s ...

Re: Croydon
the creation of the reserves league was a good idea in principle but i think the federation assumed that there would be a massive surge of female players interested in playing, this hasn't happened and the talent pool is very thin, this is why we are now seeing clubs using 13/14yr olds for senior ...

Re: Croydon
Absolute mismatch in Croydon’s last 2 games in the State league. They lost to South Adelaide 22-0 then 25-0 to Elizabeth grove. Versus the grove they only started with 10 players and to start the second half they had 9 players. If the Football federation had a heart they would or could put them in d ...

Stenta building some record here but still AU hierarchy appears not concerned Unfortunately 2023-24 is becoming a season to forget like our previous now we are anchored to the bottom of the table & I'm left wondering where our next win is going to be. Meanwhile Stenta like an 'immovable object ...

Re: 2024 Coaches
Licences don't matter. Just revenue raising by FA/FSA. They do matter in the Competition Rules. FSA are quite strict on this at NPL, SL1 and SL2 level. Clubs who dont have a licenced coach at that required level are fined, thats why every club just lists the person who has that particular licence ...

Hugo Gimenez new coach at Blue Eagles is the latest talk Who's that? Where's he from? I think Karmann Ghia is having a laugh! Hugo Gimenez was a player with West Adelaide in the 90s. I dare say he would be at least 60 years old. Yes, I barely remember the player. Being 60 yrs old wouldn't be a ...

You would’ve thought Lastella was a standout and clear winner. If not him, Scalzi or Monsigneur won all the trophies between them. Goddard did a good job with birks. Team of the year had a couple interesting selections too. Good questions for the coaches in the league, given those awards voted for b ...

Re: WNPL / WSL Cup
Will there be any forfeits this round? Nice easy run into the quarter finals for Birks! What a disgrace. How can a club like Adelaide City forfeit this match at Senior level (even if its their Reserves)? How can they not field a team, they are one of the most if not the most successful clubs in ...

I think you'll find a lot of people that used to post on here probably aren't involved with amateur sides anymore, and a lot of the current playing crop probably don't even know this forum exists. Re: WNPL / WSL Cup
What's the thoughts of those out there of Reserves competing in the Cup against WNPL and WSL 1st Teams? There should've been seeding in this first round so reserves sides didn't meet WNPL teams until Round 2. This is what effectively happens in the Men's Fed Cup. Also surely by now the State League ...
