Re: 2025 Season

I wouldn’t suggest the competition is overly competitive at the moment anyways. The same clubs struggle, the same clubs do well. There are some massive score lines and one sided games. From the games I've seen - the league is much more balanced than it was 5 years ago. Yes there were some extremely ...

Re: 2024 season

Well, if the southern teams lifted their game a bit, they might get some more games scheduled down there. However, when the vast majority of teams competing on such a show case day are from the north or metro, it doesn't seem like an ideal choice of venue - certainly will only attract the competing ...

Re: 2024 season

Anyone care to help us understand how a team lost 43-0 on the weekend Word on the street is that scoreline is not exactly accurate, and that the home team have added a few extra goals to help their goal difference. First I have heard of this. The Andrews Farm C grade is largely made up of guys that ...

BUMP Sunday Div 1 going down to the wire this season. Downs slipped up over the weekend and with the 3-point deduction they've received it's now very tight at the top. Big game against Gully coming up Unley copping a 3 point deduction for abandoning a match against Downs - Angle Vale probably ...

Re: future of saasl and csl

I don't believe refs are being pressure to not do SAASL games, but rather the behaviour of certain clubs in SAASL is putting the refs off making themselves available for SAASL games. Several refs have told me exactly this. They get to elect whether they do SAASL or not, but saying yes to reffing ...

Re: Saturday and Sunday in 2024. Why?

I understand the history of how it started, but is it still necessary to have split leagues on specific days? Could they not come together by now and increase the standard? Have three divisions then split north/south below? Merge Collegiate? I’m not OCD but man I’d love it all to be neat and more pr ...

Re: Cup

BeNatural wrote: Mon May 06, 2024 1:58 pm Why so many forfeits in the Challenge Cup this weekend?
Greek Easter, low div teams not being that excited about Cups, illness outbreaks, and 2 Saturday clubs being asked to play on a Sunday were probably all contributing factors.

Re: Nothing to see here.

We should rename the A League, which google constantly confuses with me looking for "a league", with something more descriptive, say, Australian Football League, AFL for short.

And we could call the SAASL, the Adelaide Football League, AFL for short.

Yes but that's just caused by the poor performance of their A grade through the season, not the review of this C grade game.
