Re: State School Girls Trials

These $$ issues are bigger problems than football admin staff and coaches understand. What about the parents with 2 or 3 sport talented kids... I was involved with a club and had some dealings with the FFSA for a number of reasons , one year our club had 3 players going interstate ( with SB ) the ...

Re: HARGREAVES & FULHAM

I see he is going around again at Fulham - he must he happy there. The whole conflict of interest thing has blown over by the looks if it. My mail is he uses his FFSA influence to get a few favours down at Fulham in terms of his inside knowledge at the FFSA. I see your want to have a shot at GH got ...

Re: DE QUITS

I like the way you post SW , and I agree with BH that Kev McC as a great option , not sure he'd want to work for/with the FFSA though... I have been through the SASI process with my daughter and I think the key point of difference is communication . Dave just didn't communicate !! Not to the players ...

Obvious career choice - yes . Perhaps Melbourne should have looked harder !

IMO given what he walked into , he should be given a 3rd year if he is willing. He has had time to implement his changes as he saw fit and to walk now would be almost like putting up the white flag ... Is he a quitter ? He would have a much better idea of the needs after a 2nd season and "hopefully ...

Congrat's to the girls , winning makes you feel good no matter what the situation ! Good effort today, Moore made a huge difference in attack with her added pace and intelligent runs The first goal from the field since game 1 ! :) Then we get 2 !! RW the new forward we've been looking for ?

Re: Lady Reds vs Sydney FC

The predictability thing also goes for when the keeper has the ball. Harvey always goes short. She needs to believe in herself because she can make the long kicks. An example of when she should have shaken things up a little was in the dying minutes of the 2nd half against Sydney. She had the ball ...

Re: Lady Reds vs Sydney FC

From what I've seen of the Lady Reds so far, 'possession football' equates to the keeper passing out to a defender or deep midfielder, who then proceed to pass either sideways or backwards in their defensive third, then after 4-5 passes, try to go past the half way and subsequently lose possession ...

Re: Lady Reds vs Sydney FC

Found it interesting that at 3 nil down, Mj was replaced with a midfielder and only at 4 nil down, with about 15 minutes to go, that some sort of tactical switch was made. Clearly evident after 20 minutes that things went working. We were lucky to be only 2 nil down at half time, at which point ...

There was a few good patches of play but lack that edge up front Same as the last 3 seasons , if you can't score you never win .. We have not had a scoring forward for 3+ years. How longs the contract DE ? Also , why do we have great lighting at Burton , yet late in November the girls have to play ...

MJ and Quigs are quality strikers but if the ball isn't getting through to them, the Lady Reds will struggle to win. Good to see you join the forum W-fan , MJ and Quigley would be quality if they scored more of the golden opportunities they miss . Having said that , Im sure the goals will come ...

Re: Lady Reds Ready to Roar

Keeper was fantastic , where was she last season ?? Hmmm... she was ok. Some good saves there. Her distribution however is well below par. Some of her passes struggled to get to their destination and often put her defence well in the cabernet. Saved 6+ good shots and the double effort before the ...

Re: Lady Reds Ready to Roar

Brisbane just had more in the engine. Lady Reds unlucky though, hit the post and Roar keeper made a couple good saves plus conceding a penalty R4L - your a 'glass 1/2 full' kind of supporter , which I respect, but if we lost 2-1 that would have been more than flattering. Barring 10 min. with 3 ...

[quote="SAD GAL"] Until the players ALL develop a hard competitive edge and understand that their spots are on a knife’s edge, and the players become a cohesive unit by being kept together all year AND play in the local Prems league (as the Lady Reds) we’ll end up with the same old same old.
