Re: Revamp of comp - 2025
if you assume that this years U12/13/14/15 stay where they are and are next years U13/14/15/16 then the following teams will probably be in the comp DIV A Cumberland - all teams currently JPLA Adelaide City - all teams currently JPLA Raiders - all teams currently JPLA Comets - all teams currently ...

Really against this ... i understand what theyre trying to implement , but it doesnt / isnt going to work .. I'm currently coaching an under 12's team this season , people will argue " players get more time on the ball , more touches on the ball " etc.. No .. they don't, games are played on a much ...

Its amazing the clubs have fallen for it. It wont last. It will get eventually be replaced by something much simpler. Actually all the clubs didn't fall for it. No discussion paper or written proposal was ever put to clubs for feedback. Had there been, a lot of changes would have been needed. Eg a ...

Without getting ahead of things, imagine adding the 4 suspended players to the squad PLUS the 3 over-23 senior players allowed in say, Matt Ryan, Aaron Mooy & one other. They could be quite competitive in Tokyo/Japan and have good exposure on prime-time TV in Australia. Glover in goals looked a ...

Re: Socceroos - Road to 2019 AFC Asian Cup
I did not like Arnolds appointment and the result confirms it. Aus had so much play but never really had the UAE goal keeper under pressure. The gift goal to the UAE just topped the night off. He made subs very late and they had no real time to get into it. Kruse should never play for Aus again ...

Re: Socceroos - Road to 2019 AFC Asian Cup
Given the money that has been put into football development over the last decade, including implementing a national curriculum, why is Australia slipping behind these other Asian countries! First you'd have to compare it to what money and resources these other countries have invested in development ...

Re: Socceroos - Road to 2019 AFC Asian Cup
Didn't watch game but through to quarters so not bad given all the moaning after game 1. If we can win one more and make semis, then it hasn't been that bad a campaign given the injury list. I'd have thought anything less than the semis is a failure. Look at who you have to play UAE. Then again, it ...

Re: U18s JSL competition
The biggest problem is the stigma with the u17’s. That is why the league is of a very low standard. I also think there should be u18’s under the junior banner and bring back U23’s. This would strengthen all leagues and in turn younger players will develop into better players. the U18 league is point ...

Re: SAASL Affiliation to the FFA/FFSA
Why does it matter how many divisions they have? It doesn't, but teams are folding/struggling to keep afloat and its usually "newer" teams that this applies to. I'm sure the same happens in saasl and the csl. As well as lack of volunteers, the cost of ground rental and utilities is getting beyond ...

Surprised Brandon Borello did not get a look in the Socceroos over Jamie McLaren who has achieved nothing since landing in Europe.
Borello is a better bet than Petratos and Nabbout in my opinion. Would have thought scoring in Bundesliga 2 would rank higher than ALeague players.

Ange Postecoglou, Australia — $US1,395,300 That's almost $2m Australian. He must have something special lined up. :? So Ange got paid $7.4M for 4 years work and has cited, in part, family reasons as to why he quit. Presumably those "family reasons" will also prevent him from taking up a coaching j ...

Re: OZ v. Thailand expected TV audience 7.30pm Tues 5/9/17
Sadly the National ratings last Thursday for Japan v OZ were only 327,000 on 9GO! (free-to-air Ch93.99) and 208,000 on Pay-and-pay FoxyTV. That game was up against the NRL QLD derby (live) and Sam Newman's footttee show on Channel Nine's main station. Even though it is only Thailand, I still expect ...

Re: Does the JPL need a revamp?
it seems very simple to me - Next year you keep the top 3 divisions as they are but with top 2 promoted and bottom 2 relegated. JSL becomes Div 4-6 and has promotion and relegation. In a few years the teams will sort out for themselves what divisions they should be. Like this year, make a change ...

Re: Does the JPL need a revamp?
Have heard it suggested SAASL are considering affiliating with the FFSA. If that happens it will only be a matter of time before E&D also join or the SAASL clubs start their own junior teams and an entirely new structure for the FFSA junior competition will be introduced. The FFSA quite likely will ...

how does a player not know he was registered? Quite easily if the team goes and registers him after training once and he never goes back or plays a game. If this comment refers to an FFSA player then it is not the club's responsibility to register players, the onus is on the player to do it. An ...

But this is why clubs get frustrated because Playford follows the rules in having the mandated number of ...
