Haven't they started trials? Burton park? I know the scout involved, have told him to not only do trials but go to as many prems/even state league games as possible.

Re: Quigley's mid-season club switchup

Maybe she wasn't enjoying her football and wanted to again. Think it's pointless speculating. It's great way to boost state league I reckon cut her some slack

State league
Flinders 0 - parafield gardens 1

Flinders actually dominated this one, a good (lucky) goal at the death sealed the fate though. Two crossbars and numerous chances narrowly missing. Few new players at flinders seem to be boosting play.

Re: Player Movement

I know of quite a few prems players moving to state league clubs in preseason and mid-season. Maybe instead of questioning the reasoning of players, perhaps it's good to see it as a positive step in upgrading the state league to lessen the gap between the two leagues. These players, if they go about ...

Re: Results 22nd May

Agree totally, however if you cannot play at premier league level at that club due to certain factors, and halfway through the season you will not move to another premier league club, other factors come in to play. I'm pretty sure state league players ALSO want to win.

Especially since it had caused several players to leave, one such striker who is now regularly scoring for metro, who is above cumby and HAS beaten Olympic. Not the players, it's the club.

Re: Imports imports & more imports!

It is not necessarily true saying players will go down to reserves-some would prefer that to the alternative of sitting on the bench. Training twice a week, paying full fees only to play 15minutes or less all weekend. If these players came in earlier and at least trained a bit it would not be bad ...

Harder for them to play because they'll get dropped for supposedly better players? Or perhaps more tactical shambles?

Re: Results Round 3 10th April 2011

I don't think the development of players is being questioned, more so the development of the team as a unit and the way those players, plus others can be utilized to the best, don't think this has been done yet, however early days!

Re: Results Round 3 10th April 2011

Cumby vs. Sturt - pretty messy game with both sides coming reasonably close. Probably should have been a Cumberland result but lacked finishing I think. Thought the ref wasn't great, best not get into ref debates though. Fairly even game

Re: Predictions for 2nd round?

Oh yeah early days-Slater, Harry, Calder along with other established players- great recipe, just think they'd do better with a traditional game plan to set themselves up. Definitely right though early days and with probably the strongest prems/res squad in depth have the potential to finish top 3.

Not really Chilvers hasn't played for a while and garlick just scored a cracker! As a team just played better - from watching don't think Cumby formation is working that well.

I dunno I think City beating Sturt 5-0 is pretty impressive! But crikey 6 goals to quigs-not bad. Too early for bets on top goalscorer?

Think new players have given Cumberland more stability but have many other quality players that will step up-and some others to return! Also a ressies side which contains players that can step up at any stage. Think slater playing up front so midfield spots are there for the right combo. Olympic ...
