Re: Round 3

So let's just give every team a "first" warning for any rule that is broken?? Now that is ridiculous. The rule and consequence has been given for this situation. I am sure Uni have taken it and moved on. But for you to say only a warning to be given? People need to learn to pay attention to detail ...

Re: Round 3

Correct me if I'm wrong , but it seems to me to be a MASSIVE reward to MUWFC to recieve 3 points for a game just because the person who filled in the opposition players card got a name wrong ( or missed one or whatever ). No points for Uni - fair enough - rules are rules and they would be the same ...

Re: Shambles

Adelaide University offered money to a lot of the players, thus making it appear to be a much more appealing playing environment. The things players will do for a little bit of cash, it's sad really. What ever happened to loyalty?

Re: Adelaide Olympic Vs Heidleberg

I've heard Olympic only have 22 players in their prems and reserves squad (due to injury?) and no juniors apart from U/9s. If this is the case, how will they field a premier league team?

Re: Adelaide United Womens MVP

At least the coach didn't receive any awards. I didn't think Popovic had that great a season and from what many of the spectators had said, (of those who bothered to watch the games) they always complimented Gorry and Gunning as being the players of the match. Even when Gorry wasn't playing well ...

Re: 2010 SASI Awards - What is the criteria to win the award

Must be the number of times they appear in the paper. Victoria definitely wins that hands down, must be why she won the award. Probably asked for it and received it considering that's what she did with most of her articles in the paper.

Re: Gunning

I agree that she plays better at right back but I do believe the reason she was brought to Australia was because she was an amazing striker and scored x-number of goals in America and would provide Adelaide with their much needed fire power up front but I guess Barnett prefers to have a team full of ...

Re: Round 7: Lady Reds vs Sydney FC

Oh well, there won't be an Adelaide United team next year so at least there won't be more than potentially 27 games without a win, I guess that's a positive right? Congrats Barnett, you have successfully been the world's worst coach. Why can't FFSA adapt a system similar to the U.S. where ...

Re: Lady Reds Arrivals and Departures for season 3

Strikers still to blame You can't honestly say this is all the defenders' fault?! You didn't even see the game, nor did anyone else! Point is, Mike spent too much money importing defenders when Adelaide already has many, 'capable' defenders. Why didn't he spend all his money focusing on a key ...

Re: Lady Reds Arrivals and Departures for season 3

FYI I have watched all the games. And I know that there's only so long a defense can remain strong whilst the forwards fail to penetrate the other end of the pitch. Not only is it frustrating for the defenders but also both mentally and physically demanding so obviously this will result in a 'leaky ...

Another defender? That's really going to assist United in solving its scoring drought.

Re: McLaren out for season

Agreed. But you can't force those players to trial, especially when they strongly dislike the coach - no surprise there, he seems to be the lowest common denominator in all United's flaws.

She failed to score today, also failed to look threatening. But I guess that's probably because of jet lag.

I agree with SAD GAL, V.B. isn't much of a mentor from what I've heard. Why not send last year's captain over?

Re: Lady Reds squad coming together

Is it me or Mr Barnett getting desperate? He obviously has no idea about the players in South Australia, after all, they are local and he only appears interested in interstate players. Also, word on the grapevine suggests the he believes all the girls that have been through SASI have been "taught ...

gawler dont want to go up, because they know they'll be beaten, plain and simple. either make them go to prems, or relegate them into div 5. they either have players that want to achieve something in the game - prems, or if they dont, then have a kick around in a social league - div 5. You could ...

Re: Lady Reds squad coming together

Don't blame her. Who would want to stay in a country to play soccer when you only have the Lady Reds to aspire to? After all, they are meant to be 'the cream of the crop' yet somehow I see that the coach's priority is not on fitness or commitment but merely, who he likes and who he doesn't. It seems ...
