Re: MOUNT BARKER UNITED SOCCER CLUB PRE SEASON

Just to correct any ... misunderstanding ;) All players (and officials etc) at an FFSA affiliated club are covered to participate in any and all official club events * (providing they are "registered" with the club in question). That includes all training activities . So, as far as I am aware ...

Re: NPL Victoria, the impact on juniors

I worry that the drive to concentrate resources on a smaller and smaller pool of identified talent will (if it isn't already) restrict the opportunity for more kids to play football (and younger adults too). Every initiative I read about seems to involve clubs being told to take in fewer kids ...

Read this on the Rochedale Rovers site.....Seems NPL in Brisbane is having teething problems as well. Re: Membership and Clubs with junior teams

Before looking at the constitution, you should look at the type of "legal entity" that your club is based on. Most - that are officially incorporated - will be not-for-profit organisations, owned by their members. It's that ^^^^ where a lot of the problems start. ( Note : If it is not legally ...

Sets up a big Hills derby for Saturday, then. Hahndorf got to get something* and hope Lion do them a favour as they host Angkor. Shame I'm elsewhere, should be a competitive game to watch at Pine Avenue ;) If that works out, best of luck in what will be a relegation decider (I think?!) at Angkor for ...

Always sad to see issues like this at any club - Running one successfully is a great deal of work for a lot of people - Always a shame for them when stuff like this happens.

Re: Are Juniors funding Senior set ups in Adelaide Town?

Unfortunately some clubs have this attitude of eliteness & use the success (or apparent) of their senior teams to justify junior fees. Could you imagine a club that decided that the most important area of invesment is their juniors lets invest in them & then the seniors should be able to take care ...

Yeah it was a desert early in the year no doubt. At the moment its ok though as we have had a heap of rain. Geography is one of the bigger issues for us as well. I think, whatever else, a club - and especially the coaches and more especially the committee - has a duty of care to its members/players. If they believed that playing any game, against any team, was - in their opinion (because it is their 4rse) - likely to result in their people getting hurt (and ...

Your club should have a "constitution" (or just a set of rules) All members you recruit should have signed up to abide by those rules, when they paid their subs (they did pay, right?!), each year The rules should include not abusing fellow members, not dissing the club in public and blah blah blah ...

Re: No debate about "Don't milk (junior) cash cow" column

Yes, it's a difficult question - and I agree what a parent wants for their 10-year-old (and pays to get) might well not turn out to be what that 10-year-old wants for themselves, when they reach 17/18 years-old. But I think it is the best - probably the only - measure parents can use, for weighing ...
