Re: WNPL Grand Final 2020
‘Seriously’? The club with the most expensive junior fees and connections with some of adelaides more successful business’s can’t afford to pay a coach for 2-3 months? How bad have things been Mis-managed? How much was over spent in previous regimes? Out all of the ex high profiles ex players, not on ...

Re: WNPL Grand Final 2020
The solution that was arrived at was the least worst option. There was no perfect solution. Seriously, who were they going to get mid season who would have been up to the task?Perhaps it had an impact on Friday night- we’ll never really know. The biggest club in the state with a 70 year history and ...

Re: WNPL Grand Final 2020
Nobody at City is second guessing the decision regarding Max. The appointment was untenable and not a good match at all. Max is a lovely but not the right fit for the City squad. Nobody has any regrets. From my perspective, the final outcome of Max was predictable. So we are in agreement there. But ...

Re: WNPL Grand Final 2020
Wow. Still in shock. Congratulations to Metro. An amazing final series superbly marshaled by T Scalzi. City might look back at the parting of ways with Max and the failure to appoint a 100% focused and committed coach there on. Puzzling when Max was sitting atop of the table. Having star players is ...

Re: Coaching Movements
Wow what an upset! Given the wage bill down Salisbury way and the pressure of expectation, I think if there were any cracks before this game, those cracks are now gaping breaks. We will see the fallout in the coming days. Metro now the first team ever to make the final after finishing fourth, where ...

Having a strong ‘playing group’ is stating the obvious. In a truly competitive league, you don’t get away without a good coach.

Re: AUWFC Vs Camberra
Weber has been very good creating chances but her finishing has let us down all season. Agreed that Dawber struggled to get into the game, but she has so little support. Araujo has been a huge disappointment for me. Consistently turns the ball over, slow in possession, and doesn't look like ...

Re: Lady Reds In Disarray
At this level, a coach lives and ‘dies’ by their results. If you factor in the collapse in the second half of last season, plus this seasons first five consecutive losses, we are heading into a ten plus game run of poor results. It’s amplified by having such short seasons. Being ‘competitive’ or ‘pla ...

Re: Adelaide City Appoints Max Primaro as Head Coach
A lot of diplomacy shown on this subject. I'll add my 2 cents. Like it or not, the appointment isn't sitting well with people at city. Not matter how you dress it up, people at city aren't convinced that this was a good move. My views are that city may not be able to offer the $$$$$$$$$$$$ it once ...

Latsko's transferred to Sydney FC. The 2 Finnish players and Amber Brooks are not coming back to the W League. That for me is a huge loss and says a lot about the W League??? I haven’t responded yet, but I will when it is appropriate to do so. All will be revealed. I don’t post rumours. It was con ...

Re: WNPL final
Congrats to City. Wasn't the finest game, but over the course of the year, by far the best team. Commiserations to West Adelaide. The players gave it their absolute all, and left everything on the pitch but left gutted. I think they deserved to at least bring the game to penalties where it would ...

Re: FFSA Bringing the game into disrepute
So since the weekend, has the FFSA given any reason to the clubs as to why, for what appears to be a clear cut rule, has been allowed to be broken? A decision has been made, fair enough, but surely an explanation as to why should be forthcoming. Is it also safe to assume that the player in question ...

Re: FFSA Bringing the game into disrepute
On the assumption that City got approval prior to the game from FFSA to play an unqualified player, then the issue isn't with city but with the Federation. I think everyone would like to know, and especially West Adelaide, on what grounds one individual player was exempted from a black and white ...

Didn’t see the game but given the outs for Newcastle, and lady reds playing at home with a lot at stake, what the hell happened???
The wheels have well and truly fallen off and I understand United can’t make finals.
Given their position just weeks ago, this is a disaster.

Re: Player movements before June cut off
I have heard that Cumberlands Captain has signed with West Adelaide ?? that could be a big blow to their chance or survival in the wnpl if it is true If true, its a massive blow. Fulham have more confidence now, plus more player depth and some momentum. Given Cumberland's loss of captain and coach ...

Given the rule and past precedence, one would think a points penalty is a given.Rightside wrote:FFSA still to decide if West Adelaide will lose 3 league points for not fielding an U15s team as per the WNPL criteria and regulations, a penalty they have been handed in the past I think in 2016. Could be very costly.

No huge surprises this round, but was expecting the Inter v Metro game to be a tighter affair. Looks like Metro starting to gel.
Did the new Fulham recruits play? Cumberland would have relieved to get their first three points and goals locked away.

Re: Lady Reds in Dissaray
If the club signed any player and gave permission to any respective player to play two codes at the same time, then so be it. Responsibility for any fall out rests with the club. From my perspective though, a player playing two codes (physical ones at that) at a national level is not compatible. I ...

Sorry to divert somewhat, but is it true that a lady reds player played for the Crows in a trial on the weekend? Yes, and she didn't miss a W-League game, so what's the issue? Ellyse Perry was a dual sportswoman in the W-League & WBBL - we aren't alone in allowing it. These girls aren't ...

Re: AUFC to hand back the Womens Licence to the FFSA in 2018
FFA are at loggerheads with the A League clubs to the point FIFA could still intervene and take control of the competition. I wouldn't be betting my house on any franchise rules at the moment. Its all up for negotiation. At the end of the day, clubs have to be able to afford to pay and run their ...

Re: AUFC to hand back the Womens Licence to the FFSA in 2018
I also fear that the United board, forever looking at their bottom line, will see the dramatic increase in costs and seek to hand back the team to the FFSA. It's great to pay the team and the girls definitely deserve it, but reality is someone has to pay for it all and the women's game does not ...

A certain R Quigley would not go astray now. Rachel made a big difference last season when she overcame an early injury and once started playing, the lady reds looked a very different team. Signing injured players for such a short season is fraught with danger and one that I would not recommend ...
