Re: The Wall
I once heard that they were trialling some temporary spraypaint for referees in South America. The referee would mark a line for the wall, and the paint would disappear within 30 seconds. Would definitely decrease the number of walls creeping forward or breaking, but I can imagine the referee's ...

Re: MR Kaehne Resigns
I very much doubt it as he's been on the NYL and 4thy for the HAL over the past couple of seasons. I doubt he'd take the job if it meant he was unable to referee.

Re: MR Kaehne Resigns
Anyone else as surprised as me how fast this position was filled? Did not see it advertised. Makes you wonder whether Kaehne was pushed or about to be pushed...

What sort of rethink, Muts?
No dount there are issues: first Gregan, now Kaehne.

Re: Whole of the Ball
Or, to speak frankly, realistically, and with tongue in cheek - when the AR flags, it's out; when they don't, it's not.

Re: 2010 Kits
At least they had the guts to admit they screwed up and changed - would've been bad if they'd continued in yellow to try not to draw attention to it.

Funny, I thought fights always broke out in the friendly games.

Re: Why do refs take themselves so seriously
The minute you start to relax and think a game is "easy" is often when the game explodes - at least at the upper junior levels and higher.

Re: Cautionable/Send Off Offences
I still remember the days when locally we had about 40 offences for Yellow cards and over 30 for red cards. Was a tad ridiculous when 90% of them were just Y1 or R1 lol. There was everything from "Dangerous Lateral Tackle" to "Dangerous Studs Up Tackle". I seem to remember a 2nd yellow red card was ...

Re: The Slide Tackle
IMO you can't make generalised statements such as "a tackle from behind is a bookable offence". What happens if the tackler doesn't make any contact with the tacklee? You're not going to book the player, even if he has come in from behind (I've seen it happen, through the legs). It's why I like ...

Haha got that right - all they do is get in the way and wave a massive flag around.

Re: The decision making process must move on...
I saw a report on the BBC (can't remember where sorry) that FIFA is considering extra officials and/or goal-line technology for the World Cup. To be honest I'm not a fan of extra officials, but goal-line technology is a must. Surely a ball can be invented that has a chip in it, which, when it ...

Re: Stoppage time + Time Wasting
I'd gladly referee for no match fee if this was the case!
However...my chances of abusing it...
*Buzz* What's that? Not coming to complain anymore?
Oh it would be fun.
