Re: Never self-report
Whether its an a-league salary cap thing or even an ASADA-type thing, the lesson is not to be a goody-2-shoes and self report on the expectation that you'll be treated leniently. And players , when questioned , should just 'do not recall' - dont cooperate - let the authorities earn their effin ...

lol you're on a south australian football forum mate, might want to ask on the Wanderers or Sydney FC fan forums or something.
i was going to offer you a trial on my social 7-a-side team but looks like it's not to be.
Good luck

Re: Football no longer Australia's #1 sport
pretty much every kid in every country town in Australia plays cricket in summer. Australia is one of the most urbanised countries in the world, only 10% of people actually live in rural areas. Who cares what the country kids do? :D I'm sure the ABS does. Yep, and I'll listen to the ABS rather than ...

If you like bus, tram & traffic noise at 7.30 am in the morning surrounding the Square, drowning out any commentary and atmosphere, if you like watching on an inferior screen compared to the giant 180 square-metre HD thing @ the Crowval. The new Vic Square looks absolutely mint, and is right in the ...

Thoroughly enjoyed the early k/o and hospitality at Cobras a couple of weeks ago, solid bunch of fellas there. Still spewing about last weekend versus McLaren District though, their #10 jumped through our best defender's leg, snapped shin bone and several bones in the ankle. (yellow card only ...

... Huh? I though that everyone had 'access' to the balls, it's just that they were used by some leagues (e.g. Germany) and not others (e.g. England), usually because of sponsorship deals. http://www.smh.com.au/world-cup-2010/world-cup-news/curse-of-the-jabulani-adidas-says-it-warned-teams-about ...

Horns, jabulani ball, lack of goals,.... Nothing wrong with the Vuvuzelas, nothing wrong with the Jabulani, and nothing wrong with not wanting to lose your first game   Generation Z or whatever you are need to start appreciating all facets of the game, not just the ball hitting the ...

Re: Finally its Happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quite amazing that AFL has only just cottoned on to the idea that there's more to tactics than just 1v1 matchups. I still think it's funny when AFL crowds boo when a team tries to retain possession rather than just boot it up to the forward line (mind you not too different from Adelaide Utd crowds ...

Re: Saturday Div 4 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
Won't name names because it is probably unfair for the attitudes of a few players to tar a whole team... So why bring it up in the first place? I only mentioned it in passing after saying 'most teams play in the spirit of the game'. Everyone's had games against teams that get frustrated and lose ...

As for your other comment, id be interested to know who the team of c#nts is? weve played 7 teams so far and they have all not been too bad, certainly seen worse in the past. More just that there were two or three guys that were setting out to kick people rather than play football. Won't name names ...

Re: Club Referees - Do they have to meet any kind of standard?
I have had to ref a game, as well as another player - and we have zero referee training and no real knowledge of the intricacies of the laws of the game. I wouldn't be admitting that if I was you. If you don't have a qualified ref then you lose the game. We lost both those games anyway.. I told the ...

Re: Club Referees - Do they have to meet any kind of standard?
For three home games in a row our club has failed to organise refs for the div 4 reserves. I have had to ref a game, as well as another player - and we have zero referee training and no real knowledge of the intricacies of the laws of the game. Happened again today and thankfully there was a legit ...

New to coaching
Hey all, I've been asked to coach my div 4 amateur team this year... by default really because i've played there for a little while and we don't have a real coach! Just wondering if anyone knows of good free online resources or has some good tips? I realise you can't just become a coach by reading a ...
