Re: Socceroos angst proved costly

Going to ground against Italy giving them a chance to get a penalty, then deciding to ignore the Manager and deciding to play in a manner unsuited to the starting formation and without the means to bring about substitutions to enable us to play ...

Re: All said and done...

Ive seen games at the MCG but not Docklands so cannot comment on the latter. MCG view is also crap. i would head to NSW or QLD where rugby grounds prevail as at least they are rectangular in shape. However at least the interstate games seem to have some atmosphere so whether it is the roof ...

Re: All said and done...

Football is a form of entertainment. People pay to be entertained. Lets face it, NZ is not a side i would pay money to watch play a friendly. Only the first half of any friendly has slight meaning because often the second half is about giving game time to as many players. Crap venue, Crap surface ...

Re: Over 35's Goalkeepers.

OldRedback had a couple of able replacements on the weekend. Between them kept a clean sheet in difficult conditions. Both surprised the defense by appearing to move off the goal line. A comment was heard from the defensive back four of the Downs +35's on the week-end, " I didn't know goalkeepers ...

All the pre cup hype about how certain players were going to make a big name for themselves at this World Cup and yet have failed dismally or barely made an impression

Christiano Ronaldo
Frank Ribery

Re: Trial game and the use of over age players?

1. Definitely did occur at an u15c trial game AJ v SM. Interesting when one team SM played a player short thereby leaving players on bench to even up numbers on pitch and also interchanged field players through their goalie position as they didnt have a set keeper. So you have one team bearly able ...

Personally would have preferred MacDonald to start up front with Cahill in behind, but a point was what we were hoping for.
Maybe then bring on Kennedy mid-way through second half depending on how game is going
